So, I'm trying to install FMCB on my PSX (model DESR-7000). I do not have a PS2 of any sort to use separately. But I *do* have an official CECHZM1 PS2/3 memory card adapter.

Supposedly the only difference on modern versions of FMCB is to press R1 on the install screen and choose "PSX Install".

I followed the CECHZM1 adapter FMCB install tutorial below, and downloaded the newest Noobie pack to put in the root of my FAT32-formatted 16GB USB drive (SanDisk, official).

http://psx-scene.com/forums/f153/[t...stallation-pc-ps3-memory-card-adaptor-120793/

I can see the FMCB files and App folder etc on my PSX XMB, but cannot open any of them. I've tried booting the system holding Start, O, X, Square, Triangle, and R1. None help at all.

I do not know how to get to the actual install menu.

Have I used the wrong tutorial, or?

Any and all advice welcome.

u need to be able to launch the .elf file and that requirs a exploit

Care to flesh out that thought? Because as-is it doesn't give me any new information.

Every guide I've seen is "put the FMCB memory card in, put in USB key, hold start while rebooting".

Sorry, I am used to PSX meaning PS1 and went off half-cocked there. Is there a friend with a PS2 you could use to install it with? Also, there are people in the trading area that install it for free if you pay the shipping.
