Bayonetta 1, 2, and 3 coming to Nintendo Switch

Bayo.png

Bayonetta 1 and 2 are coming to Nintendo Switch in February of 2018. I'm sure this will be great news to those who skipped these fantastic games on the Wii U.

On top of this amazing announcement, Bayonetta 3 has been confirmed to be in development for Nintendo Switch.

and here we go with its ok for more old ports.... the wii u failed, not many got to play them, excuses.

when is the switch going to get new third party titles.

I played the first on PS3 and didnt think much about it, then got the 2nd on Wii U and when it felt (opening) to be the same as the first i couldnt be arsed.

I own both on the Wii u, never really played, no intention to buy again on the switch.
It's a cash grab. Not to mention the argument that the Wii U sucked is pretty valid. You not having the intention to play them doesn't speak for everyone. Do I agree with the massive back porting? No. Especially not at full price for games up to 10 years old. However this does give people the chance to play these games from consoles they had no interest in. Why buy a console for a few games? Waste of money, honestly.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Some of them were already pretty highly-rated on Steam. There are a number of new minimalist indies on the eShop too, but they're priced as low as $2 or $3, which is obviously reasonable.
I can agree with that. Just don't want another Wii or DS situation where we got so many unknown trash titles just for easy money.

Sega owns the bayonetta trademark
http://www.trademarkia.com/bayonetta-77444642.html
And I highly doubt platinum games would want to stay exclusive to Nintendo, they very much enjoy creating exclusive games for other cosoles such as Nier Automata for Sony and Scalebound for Microsoft (Even though scalebound was soon cancelled)
That's odd id seen before platinum owns it... I guess they just stopped being involved and just loan out the IP. Also Nier isn't an exclusive.

Sega owned the Bayonetta IP from the very start as part of a project deal in which Sega would fund and promote 4 of platinums games as long as sega would be able to keep ownership of those IPs, Bayonetta was one of those IPs in this deal

Oh yeah I forgot it was on PC too, but still Platinum very much enjoys being a multi platform game developing company and I highly doubt they would want to become a Nintendo exclusive company

Platinums games don't have a history of selling all that well on Sony or Microsoft systems. Bayo 1 and nier both sold badly despite being multiplat titles. At least with w101 and bayo 2, the reason can be chocked down to them being exclusives on a system that failed, unlike other games of theirs that were on ps3, ps4, Xbox 360 and pc. If bayo 3 sales exceed a few million, their total sales for most of their multiplat titles, I expect them to consider Nintendo an advantageous partnership.

I dont see how a partership would fix anything, as an independent company Platinum still has the ability to work with Nintendo in projects as well as the ability to work with other publishers to reach a wider audience if wanted. The games platinum makes are so niche if they havent sold well in the first place a partnership with nintendo wont fix much to make sure that they do

The problem is definitely not them being niche. It's almost impossible to call any game niche outside of maybe VNs at this point. For instance, 3 games that by all accounts should have been extremely niche: cave story, undertale and binding of isaac. Platinum would get more funding and better treatment as a 1st party developer owned by Nintendo then they do right now, and seeing as how bayo2 and w101 didn't do much worse than their games on consoles owned by 5x the number of people, I expect on the switch they would outsell their previous games. Making those same games under sony or Microsoft would likely lead to far less finding and freedom based off things platinum has stated.

You get better marketing as a first party partner.

First of all Platinum games freedom of making their games however they wanted to has never been restricted at any time in respect to having either sega or nintendo as a publisher, on both accounts they have stated that they been free to create whatever they want. Second of all getting better marketing isnt something that will only happen if Platinum partners up with Nintendo theyre very much free to do that as they stand right now. Also are you really trying to convince me that a game about a sexy witch with guns isnt niche right now.. lmao, not a lot of people are into fast paced hack n slash games unfortunately

Platinum received horrible funding under Sega for the bayonetta games, and specifically spoke about how amazing it was that Nintendo gave them so much freedom and resources. And they will for sure have better marketing as a 1st party dev. They already have better marketing under Nintendo, with bayo being in smash 4, one of the most well known games of this decade, and Nintendo promoting her in their e3s and other talks. And yeah bayonetta is not a niche title lol how are sexy witches or guns niche at all? Id say over 50% of games made today have sexy chatacter(s) and guns and witches aren't that strange. You know what I would call niche? A game where you're a naked baby bombing your mom's uterus to kill your aborted brother and her heart, or a game where you kill your goat mom and them go on a hunt to kill a flower and or skeleton by dodging 2d bullet hell mazes and hitting QTEs. Oh wait those are binding of Isaac and undertale.

If it wasnt a niche game the game would have better sales, its a critically acclaimed game but not many people are buying it because its what? Niche.

Games can sell badly for more than 1 reason... demons souls sold fairly badly, yet did 1-3, which have basically the same gameplay, sold very well.
