I predict the situation will be the same as with Sonic Forces. PS4, XO and PC will play 4K at 60fps and mighty Switch 720p at 30fps...
Lol oh boy, you mean you get all 16 bits in full 4K? This is one even Switch could drive at 4K actually, it's just that nobody cares, having the portable option is much better. We'll see about 60 FPS, but these are NES/SNES games that did not run at that rate.

Megaman 11 doesn't exactly look like Crysis either, I'm betting if you fucked with it enough a PSX could run it. At least a PS2 definitely could.

If this game requires any system to go down to 720p and/or 30fps I'd be shocked. Like Sonic Mania, this is a game with a retro style that looks striking while not needing to eat up much resources at all. I mean if a game like Breath of the Wild while docked runs at 900p and 30fps, I can't fathom how this title would be restricted to either 720p or 30fps.
I'm not an expert, but I think all of the models in Megaman 11 are 3D, although we see it like a side-scrolling game. You can see from the trailer how crisp are the textures, so it's basically a 3D game from 2D perspective. And Sonic Mania is completely 2D, even sprites, except low-poly 3D models in special stages and boss fights.

2.5D is what they call it. Mario Kart 8D and Super Mario Odyssey are full 3D titles and run at 60FPS almost consistently. With the exception being MK8D with 3-4 players. Megaman 11 can't be any more demanding than either of those titles, if at all.

Seeing how the 3DS and Switch are doing right now, that's doubtful to even happen anytime within this decade.
More so with the Amiibos and Mini consoles which are highly sought out objects for all ages.
And the fact that Nintendo is branching to other media like phone, streaming games and such is because they want to expand their business, not because they are dying out.

Nintendo's been in the industry since before 1900, so waiting for them to go bankrupt anytime soon would be highly unlikely, if at all I'd say Sony would ditch their console market before Nintendo does.
I don't agree with you. I think the margin of the Switch for Nintendo is close to 50$. So from every single Switch console, Nintendo gets 50$ profit. Ok, it sold 7 millions consoles but PS4 sold 70 millions. 3DS is very profitable for Nintendo but soon nobody will care about it, especially with their choice to not use 3D option in new games.
Look at Sony, do you often see God of War or Uncharted on other consoles, or their mobile games?
Ninntendo lost console war a long ago, in the N64 era. They just making a smart move - to make most of their IP in different kind of ways, because they realize they're loosing.

Megaman isn't more demanding than Odyssey, it's just a question of poor portability to Switch. Guys from Capcom will not spend too much money and efforts for optimizing their game for Switch. Same as SEGA or Bethesda.

See, that's where I agree. Porting has become such a lazy process nowadays and it's upsetting that people are okay with it. I'm hoping they have a small, dedicated team working on the Switch version. Don't need a quick, dumbed down and dirty port just for some quick cash. It's a pathetic business practice.

But that's how gaming industry works nowadays. Just make as much ports as they can to get quick cash.
Also I think the devs know that Switch will be hacked anyways, so they don't see point in investing a lot of money in a decent porting, because in 2-3 years people will get their games for free.

What do you mean 16 bits? It's a good modern game, looking sharp and crisp af. I don't think PS2 could run such a game, PS3 possibly.

Megaman games have been 2.5D since like X4. Megaman 11 doesn't look much better than any of the others using that perspective.

It looks fine for what it is, but it does not look at all demanding hardware-wise.

Do you really don't see a difference in graphics between Megaman X4-9 and Megaman 11? It's like compare Sonic Heroes and Sonic Forces.
Bear in mind that Switch is also not very powerful.

Oh I see that, but I also see a game that is by no means pushing the boundaries of modern hardware. I see a game that easily could have run on the Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360. This game is not going to be restricted to both 720p and 30fps. If you truly believe that then you are definitely not giving the system enough credit.

I'm not giving enough credit to Capcom portability team. If this game was developed by Nintendo then it be the best quality.
Just look at the quality and size of Super Mario 3D World, it's just 1.6 Gb! It's called Nintendo Magic.

Well I guess we'll know for sure in time, but like I said I'll be shocked if this game is restricted to 720p and 30fps. I can see handheld mode being restricted to 720p, but even still running at 60fps. But I'm really inclined to believe they'll get this running at 1080p and 60fps on a docked Switch. But again, we'll know for sure in time.

There's a difference in sharpness and resolution, sure, but 2.5D is 2.5D. Switch's power is irrelevant in this situation however, as Megaman 11 looks like it's ready for a smartphone port. If they optimize at all it'll hit 60 FPS on all platforms.

Sonic Forces is mostly a full 3D game AFAIK, but it's not some graphical marvel either. Really just comes down to optimization.

Look at the amount of the details in the background, I don't think it's a mobile game quality... Maybe Switch can run 60fps, but only if developers want it to. Every multiplatform release for the Switch is bad, look for example at LA Noire, it can't even compete with PS3 version, not even mention PS4.

Yooka-Laylee seems to have a more stable framerate on Switch than PS4 or even PC, so like I said, really comes down to how well each developer optimizes for a given platform. Obviously Switch is not as strong as PS4. Obviously PS4 isn't portable, which is a much bigger drawback IMO. The only stationary gaming box you need is PC. PS4 and XB1 are already a generation back with outdated hardware, XB1X/PS4 Pro force you into ugly upscaling rather than supporting native 1440p.

Yooka-Laylee it's a rare exception, but Switch version is lighter in terms of graphics, so it's not fair comparison. Let's hope Crapcom will optimize it well, since they plan to release new Ace Attorney and other games.

I'm fine with lighter graphics if it means a more stable/higher frame rate. Seems like they should've lightened up the graphics a bit on other platforms too.

Seems to me the Switch isn't the console for you if all you'll ever do is expect and compare it to Xbox One X in terms of sheer raw power ad nauseum. Yeah, stick to getting a more PC, dude.

Switch is my console! I'm just waiting for a hack) My Switch is in the box since April...

I'm also fine. But devs don't want to downgrade graphics, they want downgrade performance.

Well that's hardly my problem, now is it? There are a lot of fantastic games, but hey, to each their own.

On consoles where they have to make sacrifices, sure. PC is the only platform that gets the best of performance and image quality. Except in the case of bad ports and Yooka-Laylee.

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it

Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.
