As a noob to the ps4 scene, I'm finding it to be very difficult to find information on this scene, since the info is so scattered and i keep coming across conflicting info. I do know there is a hack for 1.76, and supposedly an exploit for 4.55 that we dont have anything for, but not much else. all i find by googling are warez sites and fake videos.

Then let's update you to the latest lol.

Someone hacked one of the PS4 dev and stole his current work, which works on 5.00 (or maybe 5.01) with PKG installer and stuff. But so far he didn't release anything besides a 5.00 kernel dump as a proof.

And the current status is just like you said, only 1.76/4.05 kernel exploits.

oh, 4.05 not 4.55? what can we do on 4.05 as of the moment? Iv heard no one has done anything with the exploit yet. is there a point in leaving the ps4 on 4.05 if my new ps4 arrives with below that? or is a hack too far away for it to be worth it?

The only public kernel exploits were 1.76 and 4.05. The rest were all private up to 5.01.

There's a big difference between a write-up and a release.

A weaponized exploit for 4.05 was never released, only some info on how to implement it, and even that was missing some pretty important bits (like what "object" to use).

But someone eventually will implement it, not every need the hints on the nameobject stuff. It's still far batter than nothing was out since this exploit was patched long ago and no one wanted to do a thing.
