hi I've been looking for a program that can download cia from Nintendo server on pc instead of using 3ds freeshop, is funkeycia what I am looking for?
Is this similar in usage to psvitas nps_browser for pc?

is it better than 3dsestuff? I tried to download several games with 3dsestuff and got errors such as the created cia showing up in fbi has no picture and no info such as unknown region and once installed and launched, some of the games stuck at the 3ds logo screen and won't launch while other games launch but tells me the sd has been removed

That's no error, the cia metadata is optional

Missing seed, you must install it yourself on the console unless you pre-decrypted the games on PC (which needs the seed by definition)

how do I add the metadata back to the cia and how to install seed on my 3ds? I got the seeddb.bin file, thanks

You could split it on PC and repack it... but it doesn't really matter

Visit eShop page for the (released in your region) game, or in FBI2, go to Titles > your app > import seed

Say, why is FunKeyCIA so slow..? The download speed has to be like less than 100KBps or so :/ ...
Is there a way to get my .cia faster than that? If I use IDM to download something, I normally get 500KBps to 1-2MBps, at the very least.

after download tmd you can just stop and download other Content files yourself
after download all put them in one folder
then run CMD
make_cdn_cia.exe foldername cianame.cia
make_cdn_cia.exe 00040000001b5000 00040000001b5000.cia

if you do not know how many content files to download
you can use blew
ctrtool -t tmd tmd>tmd.txt

Through actual backups.
If you by "backups" you mean piracy then that is achieved by downloading them from websites which host them and installing that.
It's still possible to pirate games on a 3ds, it's just not super easy anymore.
