ToeJam & Earl Back In The Groove delayed to 2018!

On November 7, Adult Swim published on their Youtube channel that ToeJam & Earl Back in the Groove will be available for Consoles and PC in 2017. At the end of the video, you can see the duo tease the viewer and rephrase that it will be out in 2018, though no exact date is given. The game is based on the original released in 1991 for the Sega Genesis/Megadrive and is now widely available for all regions on the Playstation Network for PS3 only, Xbox Live for Xbox 360 Only and PC by Steam. (Also was available on Wiishop virtual console)

The new game is developed by HumaNature studios which was built by the original producer of the game Greg Johnson. Going to kickstarted to get this game funded, the game had a successful kickstarter and now teamed up with Adult Swim Games to get it published. The game features the familiar duo ToeJam & Earl who are self proclaimed rap master teenagers who are once again trapped on earth and need to find a way to get back home. Most of the gameplay remains the same "Rogue-Like" RPG style that it was known for before changing is direction with the other two sequels. More features has been added this time around with new playable characters and some returning features.

Spooky? What could be spooky about two teenage, funky fresh rap master aliens.... oh wait they are aliens.... No come on, is not that spooky right? :)
i found the second one creepy . . . its been like 20 years and i can still hear "hyper funk zone!" in my head
not to mention that they captured humans in jars . . . perhaps he meant creepy

I don't know why but it gave me chills. I think because of the characters & sound.

Come on guys, the game was unique, maybe too ahead of its time even, the games have some good music, Some good voiceovers, nice and colorful looking graphics and solid gameplay. Maybe you could try it again. You are adults now :P

amazing how many humans stowed away into that tiny little ship of theirs isn't it? i hated that fucking cow and duck! soon as i seen that duck **** i pulled out the vac every time.
Lol. You forget they keep sending them on repeated trips, each time at the end of the level the ship sends them back to earth, also since they are in jars, you can imagine is not very much room they are taking up on the ship. :P

Also don't do that, funk vacuums are RARE! Even more rare than super jars, more rare than Extra lives which you can get like every 20,000 points.:ninja:

Also if you managed to complete all 3 levels of the "HYPER FUNK ZONE" you get infinite super jars for the rest of the game. :P

Love the series so much. Just watched gameplay and like how it's basically the 1st game (hawaii dancer, carrot and all) with elements from the 2nd.

Being able to play this coop on switch handheld mode with friends who also enjoyed the original in the 90s is going to be so awesome!

Really excited for this game.

Just saying, you don't have to play this game alone, it is 2 players, and the ps3 xbox 360 versions have online co-op makes it easier. :P

If no one has played the original game yet, both of the genesis games are available on Playstation store for ps3 only and on xbox live (Playable on both Xbox 360 and xbox one) and also steam :)

Toejam & Earl STEAM PSN = $4.99 XBLA = $9.99 (Part of sega vintage collection, Toejam & Earl in Panic On Funkotron included)
Toejam & Earl In Panic On Funkotron STEAM PSN = $4.99 XBLA = $9.99 (Part of sega vintage collection, Toejam & Earl included)
