Ya ya, i know this is not Smashboards but i'm curious who is everyone's favorite Nintendo fighter is and why.
For me, its...
Smash 64 - Captain Falcon
Melee - Ganondorf
Project M - Ganondorf
Brawl - lol no
Smash Wii U - Ganondorf/Mario

I really like the King of Evil in Smash as you may see from my signature. :P

Who do you use in Smash?

@Sonic Angel Knight yes, Snake counts too :ha:

I don't have a main, switching characters often keeps the game from getting stale as quickly.
I am partial to Kirby though, too bad he sucks in every other game than the original. (no pun intended)
I have a handful of characters i Sm4sh I switch between, like Bowser jr., Rosalina & Luma and a few others, sometimes I just pick random.

Within game theory there is the concept of strategies. Restricting myself to one character then restricts the available strategies available to you*. It is not like it is a complex game so why then restrict my possible strategies?

*this may depend upon how you define a game, being the whole thing running on a system, a given match, a tournament or something else.

Restricting yourself to only a couple of characters offers a chance of refining those two. Rather than throwing every character at a problem, you can learn how to deal with and counter most situations with only a couple characters.

So reduce an already easy game to an even easier one?

It's only easy if you play people that aren't very good. ;)
I haven't tried that neural network AI yet but everybody I would play with can trounce the top inbuilt AIs, usually even with a handicap and without resorting to cheap stuff. I will give though that we tend to play all levels, all items, all the fun. The stock final destination with no/minimal items that is one of the reasons competitions are so poor in smash world (the other half being that most compo makers there couldn't design a contest to save their life it seems) we could probably stand to practice up on.
