Awesome, I didn't realise there were free games that would work - the list on 3ds.guide seems to only have paid games. That said, €1.99 isn't too bad (free is obviously better though).

Hi guys, been away from the 3DS homebrew, CFW and so since Pokemon Sun&Moon last year !
So I have a 3ds running the a9LH CFW with (pretty sure) an old version of luma on 11.2.0-35U US version.
And I'm preparing my 3DS to buy a new pokemon Ultra sun or Ultra moon game cartridge as soon as it releases.

So now I don't want update so that my CFW bricks the console or it gets removed or anything bad happens. So what do I need to do? What is the newest CFW available and what do I need to do exactly?

Boot9Strap is a new and advanced implementation of sighax, a boot exploit. It's like an advanced version of A9LH. It boots even earlier, and boots Arm11 payloads in the FIRM format. You want Boot9Strap.
As for the New/Old 3DS part, it's for both, but people on the New 3DS need the secret_sector.bin If you're on o3DS you don't need it, ignore that. If you follow the guide word-for-word, you'll be fine.

Hey, not sure if people are still replying to this thread, but I feel like I have somewhat of a noob question and i'm not sure where to start.

I haven't used my A9LH CFW 3DS since early 2017 and just turned it on for the first time. Unfortunately right after I turned it on I read about the recent banwaves. I'm not sure if I'm banned yet but immediately turned off Spotpass. People also recommend turning off the friend sharing settings, but I never actually setup a Mii or added any friends so I don't think that applies.

Should I reconnect to the internet and see if i'm banned? Should I try to update my system to Boot9strap from A9LH before seeing if I'm banned. Anything I need to know or do so I don't potentially screw myself over?

If you don't have a mii, and have spotpass on, there will not be any more evidence for nintendo, so you can connect. If you are banned, I can send you a public LocalFriendCodeSeed_B over PM. Test if you're banned by connecting to online in an online game, or by setting up a Mii and opening your friend list. It'll give you an error code (I can't remember what) if you're banned. You should update to Boot9Strap regardless.

So I wanted to upgrade to a new memory card I had going from 32 to 64. I formatted the 64 to fat 32 and put it in my ds to make sure the system would read it. I then copied all the files from 1 to the other. I turned on the ds and had nothing at all on it just stock apps and for some reason a copy of 4 swords no homebrew no freeshop. I followed some directions in another thread about copying a file with lots of numbers as names in the nintendo3ds folder into another folder in the nintendo3ds folder and it did not help. I was able to get Homebrew and Freeshop apps back by reinstalling them but I would like to know how to get my games back. They are still on the memory card.

I'm well aware of the process to transfer the friend code seed over to unban. My main question is, can I transfer the seed file over, uninstall cfw, and sys-transfer to another 3DS?

The seed stays on the console, so it won't transfer over if that's what your asking. But yes you should be able to do that. You should have a ntrboot capable flashcart handy in case the console bricks or has crashes after uninstalling CFW, so you can put it back.

You need to replace the seed on any console that is banned. If you've made no modifications and only inject files from other consoles and don't manually edit any system files you could unban a console and uninstall CFW and it would be fine.

If you have your 3DS in a homebrew app like FreeShop or Luma Updater or something other than that and put it into sleep mode while in that homebrew app, will you brick your 3DS? If so, can I be recovered?
