My N3ds is v.11.6 with no cfw and I am looking to learn and join the cfw scene so should I just buy the R4i-B9S or just the R4i gold so I can play Ds games? I saw somewhere you can play Ds games with the R4i-B9S but we have to wait for something and Im totally lost. Im glad I came across your post because I was just about to buy it so I would like to know your opinion on which cart would you recommend for me. Any information would be appreciated thank you.

both R4i gold RTS and this can play DS games, but you have to flash it every time you want to hack new console.
but if you only want to hack one time, flash it then hack then return it to normal.
both are good
and R4i-SDHC is cheaper and can be flashed.
R4i-B9S comes pre flashed with B9S and with a small magnet and card reader, and it does that job.

something weird happened, i have this card R4 sdhc for DS, not the "i" version
when i put to to test it on 3DS, it didn't worked, i knew it wont work. but when i used the NTR flasher, it recognize it as r4isdhc card, and so i flashed it, of course it didn't worked.
after that i tried to reflash it again to NTRboot but this time the flasher didn't recognize it.
maybe the falsher was drunk?

I got one of these R4i B9S flashcarts, I try to follow their guide, its a brand new 2dsxl with firmware 11.4.0-37E
- copy all the required files to microsd
- insert microsd into the flash cart
- insert the flashcart into a new 2dsxl
- 2dsxl is powered off and magnet definitely in position (verified when powered on)
- I hold down start, select, X and then press and hold power button
- the power led glows blue whilst i am holding all these buttons but nothing happens
- Eventually i release the buttons and the led light fades out and 2dsxl is still powered off
It happens. Isn't it a bit early for the Christmas present? Unless you're a member of a very weird and obscure sect of Christianity...

aah thank you.. yes the card that has the bootstrap on it, and comes with the Magnet.

You can just get the files from the link I gave you instead, they both install cfw, but the r4i-b9s' guide uses ntrpack. plus, 3ds.guide is the official community guide so its just better to follow it anyways

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
