I hope it doesn't violate anyone's copyright, use only for personal purposes.
Here it is, http://www.tepetaklak.com/data/hbcmusicmono.mp3
ripped directly from sound.bin, 2 loops and fade out added manually in audacity, original is 32000Hz 16 bit unsigned stereo pcm.
Haha, nice. I remember ripping it from the sound.bin the day it was released, but only shared on the IRC

Nice, but wouldn't the original composer be more than happy to share a high quality version of that song? BTW, I totally love that song, it's perfect!

Well I just wanted to use it as a ringtone hence ripped it. Didn't know there was a compo going on or the tune is already online. I'd gladly switch to a high quality version if someone provide. I don't think it's something that detriments the work of the original composer. I think it's the opposite.

ps: Composer's (drmr) other work can be seen here : http://audioo.com/#section:home_users_viewprofile_drmr

Out of curiosity, how do you get to sound.bin
If it's in the .elf file, how do you get at it?

First you extract the wad out of the elf file (You should search the wad specifier bytes in the elf file to find the location). After you got the wad file it's all wad unpacking, u8 unpacking and such. And once you got the sound.bin, you need to build the tools to convert the bns format sound to pcm, source code here : http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Opening.bnr#sound.bin

Cause it's common forum sense not to necrobump.

Anyway, try to reverse search it?
I dont get that "common sense" sense, but fine. Topic is a topic whenever i ask a question. But if it has some beeper meaning please do tell me?

And how do you.....reverse search?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Shouldn't all old topics be Locked so people wouldn't get warnings on their accounts because they are ...necro whatever the word is...

Just sayin'

General forum decency.

Years old threads have outlived their usefulness and are buried in the forums.
All over the web, you see mods closing threads cause someone decided to necrobump it.

The reason why they stay open is so that the OP and or people who responded to it originally could potentially fill the thread again with useful information.
Example: a softmod how-to thread made in '09 could be updated with information gathered in '12 or '13, hell if the OP makes a new way of softmodding something it could be updated with info from '17.
It reduces clutter.

Anyway, to answer your question and hopefully let this thread rest in peace.
I believe there's a service called Shazam which allows you to reverse search music.
