Nintendo Switch Firmware 3.0 Hacks Made Public

C7CkHQdXEAMQKe1.jpg

Team Reswitched has made their webkit exploit toolkit known as PegaSwitch available to the public! The newest version now supports up to firmware version 3.0, and comes with an Open Sourced SDK known as libtransistor so homebrew developers can get started on the console. They -even- released a Switch Homebrew emulator (they made it clear it will not emulate games) so you can debug and test homebrew without having to use the Switch every time!

With Switch homebrew still in it's infancy, don't expect anything crazy for a while still... but what an exciting time for the community!

Still have no regrets about updating mine. I'm not even 16 yet, so I don't have money to throw around.

I paid $300 for this thing, so I'm not gonna let it sit in a closet/not be able to play any games on it to wait for a little PoC Pong implementation, and I am NOT buying ANOTHER Switch.

Listen, I'm glad the scene has progressed this far already. I really am. It's just not worth it to wait, at least for me right now. Let's all respect each other's opinions, alright? :)

Meh, look at the Wii U, so much potential.. what did they used for? Get free games... no File Explorer, no Media Player NO NOTHING.
Very simple, more people with the skill and willingness to make them happen want free WiiU games than a file manager or a media player (especially when the latter could be done for less money over 3 years ago with a raspberry or even a regular PC)

Update because it'll take a long time for stuff to happen, you're an idiot for waiting, etc.

Pssht.

Missing out on SMO when it's hot new and unspoiled

or

buy a second switch, then 2 years later newSwitch with triple battery life and higher fps is out and you're stuck with 2 old Switches..

or

just update because we're too early in the life cycle to be stuck on any firmware

choices, gambles, etc...all reasonable...
