Thanks a bunch!

By the way, sorry if I'm dumb and missed it, but roughly how much SD card space should I set aside before starting the process? At the moment I have around 200 MB space (before adding the three files)), but I can delete some games, etc.
That'll be enough

Thanks a lot--and to those in the discord chat that helped.

Not sure if I missed a step, but "backup SysNAND" wasn't available in the Godmode9 scripts (only clean up and setup Luma), so I had to grab it myself. After that, everything went smoothly.

Man, it feels so good to not have to worry about official firmware updates anymore. Nevermind all the cool new toys I can play with XD

If you want more specific information search for the phrase "Can you comment on that so that we can have a target goal?" in #meta in the Nintendo Homebrew Discord channel

Im kinda of glad it got removed, its a great program but I think its good people do the step by step. It kinda gives them an idea of whats going on and if a part of the process fails they can restart that particular part. I ran the OCS once on mine just to see what it did and if something fails or github or something is down at that moment your left clueless.

looks at system version
oh 11.5 that thread is not for me

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

oh and it lets me run it but it just say UNSUPPORTED FIRMWARE

I know this method's a bit older and all with 11.6 out and stuff, but I've got an Old 3DS XL running Ver. 11.2.0-35U and I've followed all of the steps and also get the "UNSUPPORTED FIRMWARE" error. Have you or anyone else gotten this and fixed it as well?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also I'm not sure if this is related, but the old Soundhax homebrew installation for boot9strap to get to luma and all of that is doing something similar. Launching safehax.3dsx in Hombrew just gives me the same message that says my firmware is unsupported. My system doesn't crash from this, it just sends me back to the Homebrew menu.

Delete ocs, download the homebrew launcher and 3dsident, and then run 3dsident
Then tell us the kernel version and the firmware version that 3dsident gives you

Kernel version: 2.54-0
Firm version: 2.54-0

This 3DS has been modded before but I removed it for a friend, but then it turns out they're fine with it on so I'm putting it back on again, so does that affect the process in any way?
