The NES Classic was a monumental success when it released last year. Originally it was a "limited edition" product, and the number manufactured was relatively low. Scalpers tore into them, sometimes selling them for over $500 on various auctions sites as they were sold out everywhere. Well, those unlucky few who didn't manage to nab a NES Classic can rejoice; Nintendo is manufacturing and shipping more NES Classic's to stores in 2018!

Along with this news, Nintendo also announced that the inventory for the SNES Classic is also being increased to help avoid the same scalping situation as last year.

Due to incredible demand for the upcoming Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, Nintendo plans to ship the retro-inspired product into 2018. Originally, shipments were announced to cease at the end of this calendar year.

Next summer, Nintendo will also bring back the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system with new shipments. More information about the timing of the return of NES Classic Edition will be announced in the future.

Nintendo and any other provider of goods/manufacturer cannot limit ANYTHING at all, no matter how much they try. Retailers CAN limit stuff but if people know beforehand, they will just use another name on the same address or another card or a different address altogether. I am using a mail delivery service and i can use all stores throughout the country as they are included with the membership. It costs like £5 a month so if i was a big time scalper wanting to buy loads of those and there were limits, even 1 per order, i could literally FLOOD the webshops with automated robotic orders (it is extremely easy) and voila, nothing changed. There is so much money in scalping those, that there is no good deterrent . Were we talking about a £5-10 increase on retail nobody would care.

So, back again at Nintendo, make more! Scalpers can buy all they want, if there is still stock, people will buy retail...

Great. Please Nintendo, now sell the SNES controllers without the mini console as well. That's really all I care about.

Yup, this thing is cool, but it's just a novelty item. The Wii looks amazing on a PVM with a component cable. It even plays the games with the correct resolution (240p). This controller would make it perfect.

Buying one of those here in Argentina is almost like paying scalpers. I've bought it for about $175 dollars in official stores. At least we still have stock

Go to the triple frontier. You will get them in a better price, like me. (I bought my ps4 there when I traveled)

almost everything is expensive, even more games, in a normal country taxes above games are like 7% or 9%
here they are 72%
