Hardware How many of you went on ahead and bought a 2nd switch (or sold their first to get new with low fw)?

i just get upset with people who jack up the price from like $300 to $1000 bc of exploits
Yeah. Honestly I would probably just sell it to a friend or family member for the $300 I put into it.

I could have bought 3 switches on launch day and made a lot of money scalping them - but I didn't do it. The walmart by me still had 3 the morning of launch day - with no one lined up to buy them (rural area).

For the time being yes, but soon you wont be able to play the new carts.
it'd be best to not connect the switch to the internet at all right ?

but what if the exploit would require a wifi connection ?
i'll be buying a new one by next week.

is there a way to block updates within the switch , would not want to block dns from nintendo on my router because i still need that for updating my 3ds'es.

anyway, i have really no idea how and when i had my switch updated to 3.0.1
it happens too fast i guess, so i would like to know what the safest way would be, and i guess that'd be to have the new switch i'd be getting turning on Airplane mode yeah?

argh, would not want to go through another one.

edit: i have disgaea 5 complete in physical , if i were to play it, i think the switch would pop up soemthing like, needing to have internet connection for it in order to launch the game ?
and then if i were to launch the game, it would fine a new update ._. and that would also update the switch's fw. (sorry i am going sort of paranoid on this one XD)

i have done this twice already, however when something is preowned it really cant be scalped.
what i did was buy new ones then sell the olds. I did it off of craigslist.

i sold the switch for $290 and they went fast, But included an option to to bundle in which the switch went fr $280 in the bundle

$290 for switch
$45 for game
$320 for switch and game

How much expendable money do you guys have? With a wife and 2 kids, I couldn't possibly justify a second of any console. I'm pushing my luck with a Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC which overlap so much in terms of software lineup that at least one of those is redundant.

As much as I'd like a hackable Switch, I'm not prepared to keep my Switch on a lower firmware and deprive myself of new games just to play yet another port of Retroarch. My Vita makes a perfectly great handheld emulation console.

I preordered the Mario Odysse game.
if it has 3.0.1 so be it.
Right now i didnt feel the need to update and i m stuck on 2.0.0.

Anyway - if the game updates the console i don't even care a single second about it :D

I grabbed the Splatoon edition Switch at my local walmart tonight. It was the last one in stock. I just wanted to say this: It's on 3.0.0 firmware. I'm super wanting to update it just to gain eShop access and grab some games since I want this to be my first digital only console.

I stupidly bought a screen only from ebay for $200 shipped. Everything I came across was already updated so I decided one for enjoying now and one for saving.

Just got a new Switch on v1.0.0, but I think I'll just update it. I'll hunt for a lower fw if and when something comes of this hack
basically my plan
but who knows by this time next year there could be a way to "downgrade" or maybe there'll be just motherboards for sale like with the 3ds. who knows man homebrew could explode like with the 3ds you never know haha

No second Switch: I'm poor & my plan was always to do not update Switch until an hack will be released.
I have also some 3DS and Wii U games to play with - so, Switch isn't a priority at the moment
