Are you retarded? or just slow.
It's a Switch tournament. There's no real debate here. That's what it is. Don't like it? Make your own, or don't participate. It's that simple.
Also it might likely be for money, actually. Or some sort of prize. That's generally the way of things with GBAtemp events. A tangible prize tends to keep people interested and actually showing up for matches.

The tournament would move neither slower nor faster with MK8. I'm not sure why you think it would. Races in MK8 would take roughly the same amount of time as the other games, barring maybe splatoon matches taking a bit longer. All of them would be identical to organize.

What pressure? This isn't russian roulette. If you're stressed by a fun tournament then you should definitely not be participating. No one likes easily stressed, angry salt factories. You'll be doing people a favour.

Why do you keep making street fighter references no one understands except you and a very minuscule portion of people who are actually involved in the Street Fighter scene?

Neither, but thanks for asking.
As for making my own, meh.
There was no prize stated in OP; don't be retarded or slow--we all know only Patreon donators get prizes.
Many 1v1s in most fighting games over 8-12 racers in MK8. Do the math, fool.
Bragging rights. Lick-lick-lick my balls.
This is Russian roulette. And that's the news.
Git gud, newb. Getup on your competitive fight-scene terms and conditions.
Wubba Dub.

And people don't want to update. Maybe two tournaments could work out?

Street Fighter. Nintendo really needs to allow voice chat via the console, or at least allow this game, and all online games, to work with the app voice chat.

Voted for ARMS too, which seems to be an unpopular opinion somehow (at least in the votes) -_-

I voted for ARMS, why is it so low on the voting list?

Because if people don't vote for it over other choices is lower than other choices.

I haven't voted yet cause I don't own any of these games, not one online game for the matter. While I did play arms, during global test punch back in may and two weeks ago, I made a "Quick look review" of the game here. :)

Still if it comes down to it, people would probably pick the game they have and prefer over the others, so in other terms, people who voted, either don't have arms or don't have interest in it.

Motion controls are what make the game great

I dislike motion controls for the fact I can't react as quick. My fingers move faster than tilting a whole gamepad and I use alternative strategies, like hiding on walls--so jumping off a wall, shooting the ground to limit enemy movement, then going for the head needs to happen quickly. Plus, I usually play at night, get paired with JP players who squid party, and take advantage of their "choice" as a one-squid army.

I actually either turn motion controls off completely in any game or stop playing, unless the game is BotW.

If it works for you, glad you like it. Maybe I'll eventually try motion controls in Spl2n 2 to see if the Switch pro controller does MC better.
