hey I was looking at my 360 today and I want to mod it id prefer not to open it up and solder something down to it since I have no soldering skills I want to soft mod it. I've done this to various Nintendo consoles in the past EX Wii, Wii u and 3ds but never to a Microsoft or Sony console so I was wondering is my 360 hackable. I know there is a guide but I doesn't make any sense and it never mentions anything about the Xbox 360 E nor my MFR date (not gonna give it out because I don't exactly know what it is) so does anyone know where I should start...

Xbox 360E & 16D5S, sorry, there's no way you are getting around soldering.

You can either RGH it (requires soldering and extra hardware) & keep it that way at the cost of live access, or you can temporarily RGH it, extract the dvd key and then buy an Xk3y and use that.

Either way, you are soldering.

That's also assuming you don't have a winchester motherboard, if you do, you're screwed.

There's no soft mod for Xbox 360. The only options are flashing it which lets you play burned retail discs or rgh/jtagging it which allows the use of external hard drives. Either way requires soldering. Your best bet is find someone locally or someone you trust online that will charge a reasonable rate to do the one you want.

You can install them to the hdd using the option the console has, you'll still need the disc to launch them. If you mean install them so you don't need the disc anymore, then no.

So the Winchester motherboard is still unhackable? I got the 500GB Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Ghosts bundle with the date of August 2, 2014(which is slightly earlier than the earliest appearance of the Winchester that I'm aware of, I could be wrong though) on it so I'm not 100% sure if I have a Winchester, but the odds are high that I do. I really wanted to run homebrew on my 360 so I was hoping this would've been hackable by now...

Exploit is fixed, simple as that. Not just motherboard change, apparently a change to the cpu as well, cpu just stops if a glitch is attempted. Can't glitch it=no rgh. So unless a completely new exploit is found (very unlikely), nothing can be done.

Should just open yours, should be out of warranty by now, might be lucky.

Not entirely true, on earlier models flashing the drive doesn't require soldering.

I'm just afraid I might fuck something up if I do that, but I wouldn't have hacked half the consoles I have if I never rolled the dice to begin with if you catch my drift. Has the 360 hackers( I think they called themselves Team Xecutor or something like that) just stopped looking for exploits altogether?

Probably, 360 is old news. So many hackable consoles out there, probably not much money in it anymore. On top of that, 360 is pretty damn secure, only had 3 methods of running unsigned code in it's entire life (king king exploit, jtag and rgh, even then, jtag and king kong is same kernal exploit, just different method to get there), so chances of another just appearing are pretty slim.

So then the Xbox One is probably even more secure then, right?
