Heh. I hope so. When someone asked him if we were gonna have it before 2018 he said it would be very soon. A month and a half has passed since then, so it has to be quite close. Otherwise, complications may have arisen and that's why I'd want to know the reason.

also, I have been with a very small amount of free time lately since I am moving my shop to a new location and moving a business it's a lot of work.
that came out of nowhere and I must do that asap.
I am still coding, but retracted from 4 hours a day to 30 - 60 minutes... sorry about the delay. I hope to get this done before september.

When I run the program I get "Failed to create empty Document." Is there a way I can fix it

Last minute edit: I looked through the comments and couldn't find a fix. The most I saw was something about the temp files.

EDIT: So I installed everything... Same issue.
EDIT 2: Framework 3.5 wasn't installing.
EDIT 3: So after installing everything. It still does not work.

So I changed the temp environment. Didn't work. I'm using the correct installer for my os, I tried installing x86 and x64 (usually fixes other program issues) for 2005, 2008, and 2010 and still didn't fix it.

Hi, Chelsea_Fantasy.

I have been digging those great tools for modded Nintendo devices from this great gbatemp.net site for years but never been a member.
Recently I have tried out your Howling Theme Tool.
I have read all the 37 pages reply on this topic, none of the solution for "Failed to create empty document" error.

I think it's not caused by Temp Environment since TEMP parameters had been created earlier for long time, and the software was run under Adminstrator's permission too.
Don't think even .Net frameworks issue, Windows 10 had installed both 2.0+3.0, 4.7 .Net frameworks from its origin.
I suspect the cause from the software you pack the .exe.
From past replies, this symptoms happened on Windows 10 x64 user.
I do not know will the other Windows OS faced this not?

Try unpack the .exe by 7-zip or WinRAR to extract those files inside .exe, it will require password.
So possibly what the error from. I couldn't use it.
Hopefully see your up-coming updated version to fix this.

Ok, I get another HDD to fresh install Windows 10 x64 Home Single Language Edition, which supposed same to my OEM Windows came to the error when running the .exe.
And guess what? Howling Theme Tool is working fine.
The previous Windows 10 x64 was upgraded from original OEM Windows 8.1 x64.
I guess it was something wrong handling the Temp Environment by its Administrator's permission, or might be something errors in the registry.
I can't figure out.
Anyway, I just fix it by fresh installed a new Windows 10 x64, end up the story.
Found .Net Framework 3.5 not installed at this point, which previously Windows did.

I am looking for an CHHM alternative and Howling theme tool looks great due to the ability to make themes look legit.
I was wondering, should I wait for the new version since it doesnt delete themes? I dont use eShop really, so that shouldnt be a problem right?

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I've googled everything I can think of and still can't figure this out. I want my theme to persist. I want to be able to pick 1 custom theme from my HTT pack (that I got installed on my Luma3DS) and have that theme be the default.

So...say the theme I want is called Dark Future. When I turn my 3DS on, I want it to load Dark Future automatically (instead of the plain white theme) without me having to manually go in and change it for the 313242343rd time.

How do I do this? Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

If I understand, it only doesn't auto-load the theme if you don't have an SD Card in.

I always have the SD card in, it's where all my stuff is. It still doesn't auto-load after a reboot. Thanks for the reply though

This guide says not to use FBI to install the CIA but that is the only tool I have ever used to install CIA files and I cannot find the tool recommended, DEVMENU

Is this still the case or is this outdated information, or is there a tool to use now instead of FBI other than DEVMENU?

EDIT: NM I found Devmenu but it is old and I also found "Themely" which seems like a better alternative. Still learning a lot on this 3DS
