Yeah, that's what scares me about dropping $300 on a Switch atm... I'll still do it, because I planned to eventually buy one anyways, but...

Off topic: What was that program/software/trick that was trying to allow PC streaming/control using a Switch?
I ordered one two days ago when i got wind of this entire situation.
Otherwise i would have waited, perhaps even up to two years. The console doesn't have much to offer, but having a hacked console is always worth it.

Regardless of this news, we still don't know anything more than it's a major vulnerability right? Who's to say if it'll be used for homebrew, or if homebrew is even in the works using this vulnerability? What I'm getting at is just because of this news doesn't mean we should go out and purchase a Switch right?

If I buy a Switch now there won't be anything for me to do on it. It'll just be sitting at home not doing shit for a year or so.

Maybe in a few years a New Switch XL will be released and the Switch we have today will be useless. There's so much uncertainty it's a big gamble whether or not I should pick one up.

Are there any sales figures to compare how well the Switch has been going compared to the PS4 and XBONE? Perhaps if the Switch isn't going well then Ninty wont bother releasing any updated system for it, like how we never got a Wii U Pro.

Thank you for the news after 17 days 3.0.1 came out! Really helpful.
They warned the community as soon as they were done with the testing and were certain it was fixed
Also, they never said it was completely safe to update to 3.0.1
why complain? your fault

Saying: "Well, of course we will hack something don't update please" is not warning. Saying:"3.0.0 has a huge exploit don't update" IS WARNING.

Eh, I'm not heartbroken. I'd rather enjoy my online games now and pick up homebrew when its more mature. It's not like I want to develop for it so no big deal not having access early on. I'm not willing to miss out on splatfests, mario kart online, and any new eshop games just so I can use early homebrew like music players and shit. I am interested, as usual, to see how it goes down this time around.
