Nintendo announces limited edition Metroid N3DS XL

With the upcoming release of Metroid: Samus Returns, it seems like the once-abandoned series is coming back into the spotlight, in the form of a limited edition New 3DS XL. It'll be hitting store shelves at "limited retailers" on September 15th.

Oh alright. Yeah I'd get 3 cards for $40 and then dump them all/install them all.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

But what would that mean for digital? 3 separate downloads?

Eh. Considering they require an account to download, and the accounts are tied to an email.. Purchasing the 1st one could trigger an automated email to send codes for the other 2. Unno.

Where in the world did you get that from what I said? 0.o

I accidentally quoted you, sorry about that.

It's still selling, but there's still plenty of stock everywhere too. They really don't need to make any more for now.

That is true as I see Galaxy New 3dsxls everywhere but this is a Metroid themed new 3ds, mainly for the fans and also Nintendo does this with alot of there games. They did it with Majoras Mask, with a bonus of alot of people having there's cancelled, Mario themed, also Metroid is big to Nintendo mainly cause Gunpei Yokoi was the creator of Metroid, not Sakamoto, so Nintendo has to be very careful with Metroid.

Also remember that they don't need to make more new 3dsxls because all they have to do is take a black new 3dsxl or red and put a new paint job on it. The Metroid New 3dsxl is probably just a black new 3dsxl that was in storage and so they replaced the cover with a Metroid themed version, they don't need to make new systems to add a paint job.

Fitting all three games on a 4 GB chip would be tough without severely limiting certain things.
According to Wikipedia they could create a cartridge of 8gb, the thing is it would be a downgraded port, so it wouldn't need a lot of storage for the textures. gamecube games needed all the buttons of the controller, they could use the touchscreen, anyway it would require a lot of effort to port the 3 games, the trilogy would be more easy to port to the switch, less resources and not a downport.

It was never big on Metroid but this new game looks hot and so does this new 3DS.

I would be very interested to see how many of those people that said quote "I/most people never use the 3 D anyway" and bought a 2DS XL.... buy one of these. Sadly I'll never know... / laughing at their hypocrisy
