So, RetroArch Wii just got updated to v1.6.0.
I decided to give it another chance, hoping that things had changed since earlier builds that were a buggy mess.

The only core I have interest in is Snes9x (I guess they removed Snes9x Next?). I load it it up , launch a game and realize it actually plays nicely with 480i and bilinear filtering. However, when I go and change the settings (the settings menu doesn't crash every 10 seconds now) to a 240p resolution and shutting off filtering, I get horrible horizontal screen tearing in games.

Anyone know how to remedy this screen tearing with 240p and zero filtering?
I've always wanted to like RetroArch Wii but it has always been a unusable cluster fuck when it comes to Double-Strike resolutions and basic configuring. Has this changed in recent builds?

Okay, never mind.
v1.6.0 isn't the latest, it's v1.6.3. The newest version has Snes9x v1.54 and runs at 18fps.....even some of the included older Snes9x cores run like this...the hell?

Weird. To be honest, i haven't used it since the 1.2.2 era, given that the newest "stable" releases stopped functioning in various cores, or were losing performance. I was curious and about to test 1.6.3, as a matter of fact, wanted to know if the Snes9X 2005/2010 cores has gotten better, along CPS-1/CPS-2, MAME and Neo Geo.

Definitely broken, which isn't unusual between "stable" releases. I am currently backpedaling between versions and went back to 1.4.0.0, let's see if this one holds up. Otherwise, i'll be staying in my personal 1.0.0.2 / 1.2.2.0 / 1.3.4.0 mix.

I thought only Next cores were optimized to run at full speed, not the mainline cores? Snes9x Next is better suited to the Wii given its weaker CPU. Snes9x 2010 is the other name for it AFAIK.
