Can you suggest some good Horrorfilms that arent that known?
I pretty much already know all the famous ones.
Funny Trashhorror and Comedy is also welcome, but same as with normal, only if its something not that known (not Troma, early Peter R Jackson etc).

Don't watch The Grudge and The Ring.
American shit movies, Instead watch n the original Asian versions.
They're far superior.

@Shadowfied has put up a nice decent list.
As Above So Below is a really fucking nice one!
And, The Blair Witch Project is a masterpiece.
If you like handy cam esque films, go n watch Cloverfield.
Not really a horror but a really good one.

Oh, I also recommend The Amityville Horror.
Spoiler: the last part of the film makes no sense and it has nothing to do with the entire plot.

It's to bad that the majority of the horrors produced in the US are just bland.
The plot is is usually good for the first hour but at the last 15 mins orso, it takes a completely different turn which literally has nothing to do with the entire story.
The scares are to predictable as well.
Go for some Asian horrors, they're the best!

I actually like both the Asian and American versions of The Grudge. Not sure if I've watched the original The Ring.

Just..... NO!!!! To those except for Suspiria.... in which a person will want to wait for the US Blu-Ray release by Synapse. Every other release looks like complete crap and is not the way the film was meant to be seen. Unless a person enjoys severe black crush, completely incorrect color timings, blown out whites, severe lack of detail, etc,... Otherwise Suspiria and it's two sequels (Inferno & Mother of Tears) are among my favorites.

I'll partially agree with those. Cabin in the Woods was brilliant but I feel most people completely miss the point of it all, the Insidious movies are pretty good (first one was my least fav though), and the original 2008 French-Canadian version of Martyrs is one of the most disturbingly unsettling & creepy movie I've seen.

I will also add to the list but I'm about ready to head out to run errands for the day.

I can't understand how anyone can like Insidious. I just can't take it seriously when they do the fucking
gas mask shit and all that crazy shit
- I even gave the second movie a chance and watched it at the cinema, people were literally laughing when the movie ended. Couldn't tell if they wanted to make a comedy or a horror movie.

Insidious deals with astral projection. That's the part that interests me. Regardless, how can a list have Mama, Jeepers Creepers, Dead Silence, and The Grudge as good.... but Insidious as bad? Imo kinda pot calling the kettle black. ;)

I'll still get to adding more to the list, just been busy and tired. Cheers!

holy shit this suddenly got active

I feel like I should giv some I liked too

Actually good serious horror films:

Tetsuo (Japan,1989)(Sorry,not good with japanese names)
Man realises hes turning into Metal, kinda could be considered Japanese Eraserhead

Videodrome (Canada,1988?)(David Cronenberg)
Spoiler:

Saló (1972)
not strictly horror, but still pretty disturbing

OK Films (still good but wouldnt call them master pieces):
Hellraiser(1987)
Hellraiser II (198?):ok sequel if you liked the first
Phantasm (1975)
Black Sabbath(197?):Anthology film

Fun Trash:
Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes(1979),cant be described with words, you just have to see it to believe it
Poultrygeist (2006)(Troma),best movie they ever made imo,Troma pretty much are gods of shit cinema, akward dialog, over the top violence, offensive humor
Bad Taste(1987)(Peter R Jackson),often ignored bcz of Braindead and all his later work, tho its quite a good parody of shitty sci fi and action films from the 80s.
Braindead (1992)(Peter R Jackson),pretty good parody of shitty zombie films from 70s and 80s
Re-Animator(1985):If you will like his film can be determined by the simple question:Do you find the thought of naked Zombies funny?
The Excorist 2:The Heretic (????):Ever wanted to see the man who played Darth Vader in a locust costume?
The Human Centipede (200?):I find poop way too funny
Friday The 13th (1981):Retard drowns cuz horny teenagers and then murder on horny teenagers

Do not watch:
Return of the Killer Tomatoes:The main running gag of the film is that there are no Killer tomatoes
Blair Witch Project: Boy people will hate me for this one,but I personally just was bored and shocked at how they couldnt even follow a river,if you feel like youll dislike the film, you need to see the ending tho, pretty hilarious shit
Unfriended (2015 or 16?):Also known as "Petty cyberbullying skype ghost",also that blender scene has some of the saddest special effects ive seen

@Eightcoins, do you want disturbing or jump scares? This is what you should have clarified. I find disturbing much more entertaining than jump scares, but if you like predictability I won't judge. Anyway, as far as disturbing goes I recommend anything by Toetag Pictures, Hotel Inferno (it's in Spanish, and the English dub is kinda bad, but it's very worth whatever language you choose), Begotten (black and white, but very enthralling as it portrays the death and rebirth of God), Melancholie der Engel, as mentioned above (rated the most brutal exploit film by Severed Cinema), Cannibal Holocaust, the Guinea Pig series (Charlie Sheen thought these films were actual snuff and reported them to the FBI), Rotten Romance (if you can manage to find it this is very nice compilation of short films depicting cannibalism and necrophilia), ABCs of Death (a compilation film of some sort of death relating to each letter of the English alphabet. Some of the skits are actually very humorous, and my friend Lee Hardcastle actually did the skit for the letter T. Each letter is done by a different director and producer), À l'intérieur, or "Inside", (an incredible French film, subtitles are worth it), La Casa del Fin de los Tiempos (excellent Venezuelan horror), and last but not least Jacob's Ladder. I have many more in my repertoire of "fucked up", but these are some of the best and most memorable.

Not Jumpscares
Also didnt find most of the "shock movies" (cannibal holocaust,Guinea Pig etc) that disturbing all I saw in it was just violence for the sake of violence.
And I wouldnt really judge it on how "violent" other people see it,after all Saw is considered one of the most violent films of all time, despite cutting away from violence after 3 seconds. And at a certain point of gore its just so over the top it becomes funny.
