When I turn on my GBA with EZ Flash 4 inserted, the client on the as cart with ROMs, it simply comes up with a black screen after Gameboy startup. I tried taking the SD card out and reinserting the Flash Card, but it came up with the game boy startup and the same black screen with a small blue square. Is there any way to fix this?

is your ez iv white? if it does, this very likely means you using a sdhc card without having a 1.74+ firmware...

It's the black one, the latest model from their website
other thing that can cause this is the card not being formatted in fat32...
very likely it's the micro sd...

you can also try to update the card, download the last version of the firmware put on the sd card, boot the card holding R to see if it finds the update

Right, so I updated the sd card with the latest version of the firmware and held R, and that seems to have done the trick, it's working perfectly now, thanks :D

since it worked, i suggest you to roll back to a more stable version of the firmware.
choose one of thoose:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/ez-flash-iv-v2-01-with-bluenight-skin-release.475911/

the latter firmwares are kinda still "in progress" for now i suggest 2.01 with reset patch.. you don't have the fancy back to menu function but compatibility is awesome
