Resident Evil Revelations launches 29th August on PS4 and X1, Late 2017 for Switch

Today Capcom announced that Resident Evil Revelations will be released at the end of the month August 29th for PS4 and Xbox One, and Switch 'Late 2017'.

Now updated for current generation consoles, Resident Evil Revelations is the acclaimed survival horror title featuring series veterans Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield as they investigate the reportedly abandoned “Queen Zenobia” cruise ship. This new version features a smoother 1920x1080 resolution, an improved framerate, increased environmental detail and refined creature movement, defining this as the best-looking version of the game to date. All previously released downloadable content is also included in the game as unlockable rewards.

Take on hordes of enemies with a friend online in the returning Raid Mode, which includes “The Ghost Ship: Chaos,” a fresh take on the popular stage with more powerful weapons and ways for players to upgrade their arsenal, and remixed enemy placements for an added challenge. Additionally, four controller schemes based on control types from across the entire series are available in this version of the game for a more flexible experience to accommodate different playstyles.
Resident Evil Revelations launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 29th August. A Nintendo Switch release of both Resident Evil Revelations and its follow up Resident Evil Revelations 2, which features series favourites like Claire Redfield and Barry Burton as they face untold horror, will also be available in Late 2017.

What do you think about the delay of the Switch version?

Not buying it, I actually own it for ps3, and i disliked it, Though if RE 6 and 5 get switch port at 1080P and 60FPS, I may buy it. Good to see capcom actually see switch as a console for games for them, even though is just a port. Let's see Ultra Street Fighter 4, with 5GHZ wifi, i may like that. :ninja:

The delay on the Switch version is surprising, but not unexplainable. While the game was originally on the 3DS, chances are that the version that's being ported is the home console one, which explains the discrepancy. In addition, Capcom can expect steady sales on PS4 and XBO while the sales on the brand-new Switch are still a big question mark, so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't considered a priority. Overall I get the feeling of too little and too late - we already have the sequel on current gens, it's odd that the original is released now and not a long, long time ago.

Cool that the Switch is getting both games. I COULD have played the first on the 3ds, but hate the controls. Can't wait to pick this up.

Maybe plans for Revelations 2 bundle? Is possible right? the first one was a full retail title, but the second was mostly a download game right? Besides that, it could be a bundle for the delay. :)

From what I've heard, Capcom is warming up to the Switch, especially after the successful sales numbers of Street Fighter II. Glad that this game is coming to Switch. Hopefully it does well and more follow, would be nice to have a decent third party lineup on Switch in the future.

Revelations 1 is a decent game, a bit rough around the edges but still very fun, worthwhile to play, I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it though. Revelations 2, on the other hand, is really really good. I only have chapter 1 of RER2, yet there is an insane amount of Raid Mode content to play, and the campain has some replayability with it's achievement system and such. I'll likely pick this up on Switch instead of buying the rest of the chapters on steam, you seriously get a lot of content for the money. RER2 is worth roughly like $30 imo, if it's priced higher than that on Switch I'll probably stick with Steam.

Yeah, the sales of the Ultra street fighter 2, question is how much will the game cost? $40 port or be like nintendo and $60 port :glare:

If is a double package for Revelations 2 with full dlc, then i'll accept a $60 port but if is just one game then should least be $40-$30. Unless there is some feature worth bragging about at this port for the switch, considering this game been on 3DS and WII U which both had 2 screens, with touch screens, and switch being a bit different, I dunno.

$40 would be fair, I suppose. I'm guessing those who wanted to play it have played it by now, so I don't think it'll sell at full price. Then again, Nintendo made bank with their $60 ports because no one owned a Wii U and even those that did swallowed the price and rebought the game.

Revelations 2 was released as an episodic title and ultimately as a full disc-based game to mirror the Telltale model, I don't think this is a sign of a bundle coming besides maybe a digital one.

I wish i can say the joke is on them but i can't cause they have money. But I own a wii u and switch and still didn't buy mario kart 8 for either of them, and if they did release smash bros on switch, then the joke's on me cause I did buy it on wii u and 3ds.

Besides that, It just was a idea if it would be a double pack bundle game release. Kinda like Bayonetta 2 on wii u. I never had the first game, so it was nice to get both for $60. (Had i bought the first one, it might have been on ps3 but heard it wasn't a good port) So I just kinda hope more people consider doing bundle ports like that, least it would be less effort to do and can still charge $40-60 for it. Both Donkey kong country games on wii u port, another good option.

What? Why? Is there any reason? I don't understand.

We don't need old ports over and over again - new games is what we want for new consoles.

Well, I guess it's sorta good 'cause it's not Resident Evil 4 at least but meh.. I didn't like Revelations so not gonna pick it up.
