The easiest method by far is using your routers url blocking features if it has that option - which I feel the majority of routers do have (or should. if it doesn't check for firmware upgrade).

If not just follow one of the many guides here that go over the steps to change your Wii U dns servers. You can find them just by looking at the stickies or searching. They also contain the urls you need to block

Also, I’d like to piggyback off your suggestion: if your router doesn’t have this feature, look into custom firmware like DDWRT. I used to use that for my old Linksys router.

Dunno why people find the need for url filtering when DNS alone blocks the updates. You can even take it further by deleting the update folder from the system to prevent updating entirely.

1) I find it convenient. I have multiple Wii U's, easier to set one thing rather than from the Wii U settings.
2) Some people have the tendency to recreate wi-fi connections, not realizing that they would need to setup the DNS settings again for the new connection.

I get where you're coming from, but there are some reasons.

Deleting the update folder blocks updates without needing a DNS or proxy.

I'm well aware of that. What I have

I'm aware of that. Perhaps I'll have to pursue that option at some point, but I already have everything setup from a past perspective and it simply works.

Everyone please I do not want to use public DNS i dont trust them they might spy on traffic and I get paranoid about that I want to run it via fiddler is it possible or not?

I'm pretty sure that fiddler is just for traffic on your PC.
It has a misleading "capture traffic" option (press F12) that actually only enables it as your computer's proxy, but there's a separate option to make it accept connections from other computers

Not familiar on how to blacklist some domains without being in approve/edit-every-request mode (F9) though

Should be able to map to nothing.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
