I was hoping to play the ds version in pc & mobile.

Unfortunately, I can't compare the effort of translating a ROM to getting an emulator to work, because they are very different types of hacks.

What I *can* do is assure you that you will be able to play the DS version on emulators on your phone and computer (for the ones we've tested it all seems to work, at least). We haven't done a test with a ROM cart in a couple of months, but back when we were regularly testing that everything seemed to work too.

You should be covered for options on how/where to play the patched ROM. :D

My friend suggested this game to me and I am quite excited to play it. It seems to be quite wonderful. So keep up the good work. Can't wait for the release.

First time we are happy when a game release is postponed ?

I'm waiting to play DS version first before playing PS3 version, and then NNK2 (can be released in 2018, but it will be japan version only right? 2019-2020 for english version?)

i don't think so because the game will be on steam and it will most likely target western players so it will be in English on the 2018 release. its just my speculations though.

Since the release of NiNoKuni II was put to 2018 there is now more time for the translation :)

More time for testing, at least! Ha ha. I was both sad and incredibly happy to hear of the delay. First, it gives me more time to save up for a PS4... but also because it gives us more time for this translation. :)

Is this project still in the works?

Yup, still working. Things are a bit slow in the summer, and I took a 2.5 week trip out to eastern Canada to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday and catch up with some friends. It was a good trip, but I got back to work and it was a bit of a gong show at the office so I haven't had as much time as I'd like for playtesting / bug fixing.

We're still working on it, though. Have no fear! :)

I've been looking forward to this patch for a long time! I tried playing the Spanish patch, but my Spanish just isn't up to snuff.

Someday romhacking at portuguese forum group will translate this awesome game. The English and Portuguese are on my priority list. Can't wait.

How can I help?

With patience! :)

We're making progress, and we're not aiming for perfection or anything, but summers are always slower. I'll take inventory of what we have left to do this weekend, but at this point it is probably more work to train someone new on our filesystem than to just hunker down and finish things with the group we have.

More work does not necessarily mean more time, but we've had quite a few people offer to help, get trained up, do about 10 minutes worth of work, and then never show up again. Every time that happens I lose a few days to supporting the new person and training them, which is never fun and is definitely not as worth it as me just spending several days working on the game. I know you may be more reliable, but to be honest that is what everyone says before they understand the scope of the project (I assume that's why people go MIA).

Thanks for the interest, encouragement, and patience!

Hello anjiera :)
Good to see you enjoyed your trip (hey, already a year since your last holidays and travel to France and Italy? edit: it was in november )

As we talked about getting more help for this project in the other nnk thread, I was wondering how many members are still active and how long have them been part of the team? are some of them from the beginning of the project, or even before you joined it?
