During global test fire, I had no issues, 3 bar wifi on 5GHZ was masterpiece of internet connection i wanted from nintendo since 2005.

What is your internet speed test the switch gave you? I got 50MB download and 25 upload with 10 ping.

Not sure if it will help but try changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and the other to 8.8.4.4. I heard it helps in some cases.

It's fine for me, about the same as the first Splatoon. Which is to say, occasionally I get dropped from a game, but most of the time it's fine.
Plus, I'm willing to bet that most of the connection issues are my fault, since I have crappy internet.

35MB Download is fine. You don't need much for a game console. Besides you should have at least 10MB upload/download for online games. (Assuming is stable) having higher download speed just makes your eshop downloads faster and "ONLY IF" you had other apps like web browsing, and youtube, crunchyroll, netflix, hulu, amazon, etc. Is not much but faster game downloads. As long as you have stable internet speed above 15MB then is okay for the most part.

taking that download into consideration your upload is probably around 1 megabit. that upload should be fine for the game. your download is fine. the wii U splatoon used about 60-90 kb/sec. mario kart 8 on wii u wanted about 60-70kb/sec

It seems to be working well so far. But it's worth noting that the Switch's wireless signal is in general pretty bad, if the router is not in the same or an adjacent room you might experience constant connection drops.

On a 5GHz band, but no issues whatsoever. Had one game drop because not enough people joined, that's it. Otherwise, games have filled up quick and loading time for online or offline matches is basically non-existent for this game.

Planning on going wired by the end of Summer, hopefully it resolves some minor issues I have with my ISP and Nintendo's online service which is think it good but not great at the moment.

There's still time for improvement at Nintendo's end since with the launch of Splatoon 2 there will now be two really big IP's that use the online service with lots of traffic as a test bed for any future infrastructure improvements Nintendo is planing on before switching users over to a paid service.

I had one connection issue in eight hours of gaming. You could consider it a lot but I do not find it problematic yet.
