Does the patching option for CFW work on luma 6? Because Luma 7 is only compatible with B9S but I only have A9LH
Also where is the documentation?
No, it needs Luma 7.0+ (as specified everywhere the CFW is mentioned in the OP and second post). Follow this guide to update to boot9strap so you can use the latest Luma3DS version. The process is very quick (less than five minutes) and mostly consists of downloading and placing files on the SD card.

If you can't take five minutes to update your Luma to 8.x, download Luma 7.0.5 from here and use it alongside a9lh. Luma 7.x is compatible with a9lh.

I realized that it wasn't the patch causing my RNG calculations to be wrong. Matsuda Method goes off the Pokemon's Language (if it has the mark on the top right of the top screen saying it's another Language), not 3ds Country data now. I wasn't doing Matsuda, but thought I was, clicking it on the RNG program and it was causing my math to be wrong.

Sorry Dio for the mixup. :yay3ds:

Has anyone managed to build the CIA version successfully, especially the Expanded build? I've tried both sun and moon on two different Windows 10 PCs, several times each, using 3DS and CIA sources, and I always get errors no matter what I try. Sometimes it doesn't generate a CIA file at all, and sometimes it generates a CIA file that's way too small (300KB - 400MB for a game that should be 3GB).

Make sure there's room on your hard disk and you have a fair amount of RAM. 3dstool took 6GB while building the CIAs for me.

Oh well. At least you can use the Drag and Drop method on any 3DS that could install a CIA.
Yeah, eventually I gave up and just used the Drag and Drop method with Luma, but it would be nice to be able to use it in Gateway mode instead of rebooting to Luma specifically for this game

From what I've been able to play so far, using Luma's game patching, it looks nice. I definitely noticed the higher difficulty curve when I went into the Trainer School unprepared and got thrashed by Joey.

EDIT: Finally got to the first trial, and I have to say that this is the first time in years that I've legitimately wanted to rage quit a pokemon game for being too hard.

I got it to work, thanks a lot for this hack

Because the based game just felt too easy so this hack spice things up a lot

I have a question about using cheats code. I want to use the Instant Message code and Faster Walking Speed code but they dont work like they did with the based game. So do you know any way to get them to work for this mod? Im on Citra

thanks alot

That's an optional battle, though he is weak to status effects.

In other news, these ROM hacks have officially passed 20,000 downloads! Thank you everyone for your support and I hope my next project is even better.

Nice, nice. I like these kinds of mods. Similar in feel to Polished Crystal.

Question Regarding this feature:
  • Switch Mode no longer reveals the incoming Pokémon.

I'm using Expanded version, FWIW. If I'm using the drag & drop method, is there a way to re-enable seeing what Pokemon my opponent is sending out before a switch? I don't use set battle style for a reason, and offering a blind switch method instead of just using "Set" is just...kind of stupid, IMO. I like every other feature besides this.

You'll have to figure that out for yourself. The game is supposed to be challenging, giving you the ability to switch for free to something that wins the type matchup makes it literally impossible for you to lose. If I could, I would have disabled the ability to use Shift Mode altogether, since being able to switch out for free completely ruins momentum-based strategies used by the in-game trainers even without the information (Moves like Memento go from threatening to a total joke, for example).

I like this patch a lot. I have one suggestion about convenience that still makes the Pokemon legal. Is it possible to add egg moves into the level up list? Another thing that I didn't see mentioned was moving the annoying post-game TMs such as Surf so that they are accessible before the league.

i'm not about to go digging through the game files to try and reverse this. I'll sooner just not play it, but that's fine i suppose.
