Edit : solved : just let the system unplugged for a few mins, reboot, and the update disappears from the download manager.

Hi there,

I was just trying to home-brew a clean WII U today, but the 5.5.2 release came out, and is now in the download list.
Thanks to the DNS edition, it didn't go through.

But now I got the system update blocking any other download and especially the DS game i just bought to do the Haxchi method.

How do I get rid of the system update ? Clicking the game and then "download first" doesn't work.

Thx guys!

Unfortunately, the Wii U needs to update first in order to download that DS game.
Far as I'm concern.

At worst a wipe would get rid of it ?

Was hoping for another trick, console now has HBC and WUP installed.

Ok Solved !

Just totally unplug the system, wait a couple of mins and update, is gone, game downloading \o/

Can you describe better what you did?
I'm in the same situation as you and I unplugged my WiiU from the mains. But the update is still stopping the game from downloading

Unplugged from the mains, waited something like 2 mins, replugged.
Update was gone and game downloaded.

I had the DNS modified as instructed on the wiiu.guide site.

Stop following that piece of shite guide. If anyone follows that guide today they will end up with an unmoddable system. I've been warning users for months. I just hope somebody listened.

Like I said, if you follow it TODAY. If you already have CBHC and HaxChi then you're okay. But if you're a brand new user and you try to hack following that guide TODAY you will be updated to 5.5.2 with no way to mod your Wii U. The authors never bother to keep it updated enough. They've gotten by recently by the skin of their teeth because nothing major changed. Now that it HAS changed their guide remains un-updated. They are always behind the 8 ball on updates. Right now in the first paragraph they instruct users to go online and update. That's the very first page. There are entire sections that need to be updated immediately but they are always very slow to update.

I was just thinking that, if your wiiu updates fully to v5.5.2 there is no way of installing anything. I also forgot you need to access the browser to load homebrew to install cbhc/haxchi even if you did decide to go down that route after it updated to v5.5.2. That's a bummer! Could you imagine if you solely relied on the browser method and then you forgot about your dns servers and it updated to v5.5.2 overnight so you decide then oh, its ok I shall download a DS VC title and do it via haxchi method..... Doh!!!

For those having trouble applying Haxchi from 5.5.1 after buying a suitable VC title due to
'System Update' forever blocking it the top of the download queue, try this...

The only time mine suddenly worked and allowed my bought VC title to download has been
after the following accidentally happened:

1. Attempted to load the HBL from browserhax
2. Failed with an error, due to the SD Card not being in! :)
3. Had to force a reset of the WiiU (holding the power button in for 4 seconds).
4. Restarted WiiU - VC title was immediately free to start downloading!

I can't tell you whether it's to do with the failure and forced restart, the forced restart alone, or whether it's all
purely coincidence (I'm not prepared to go back and find out now that Haxchi is foinally installed and working!).

All I know is that I tried everything I could find on these threads and my VC title was only free to download after
this happened. So if you're still stuck and don't want to move onto higher risk workarounds, it might be worth a try.

Good luck!

[Note: EU Wii U with 5.5.1E]
