almost done! Restored my EMUNAND on SYSNAND and I have to do the luma CTRNAND step..
is there any way to use my gateway 3DS on luma? I don't have enough space on my card for my games I have and I used the gateway to give me additional games..if not that's cool..is there a way to check what version of luma i'm on in system settings?...it looks almost like stock so i'm a little paranoid just a bit..

You can dual boot, but GW only supports up to 11.2 and if you boot later firmwares (starting at 11.something I believe) on GW sysNAND B9S will be wiped so you'll need an emuNAND.

whelp. sounds like i'm going to have to uninstall some games then..I mean...i'm on 10-- something I think after I did the 3DS guide setup...is there any advantage to going above 11.2?

As I mentioned earlier, it is highly recommended that you ditch Gateway completely. It's barely supported, and using it improperly could result in the accidental removal of B9S, causing you to lose access to both Luma3DS and Gateway.

once you successfully install bs9 its recommended to update the max so you can play online if you choose and get updates from games naively from shop

When you turn on your 3DS, you can hold Select to view which version of Luma3DS you're using at the top of the configuration settings. If you just followed the guide, you're likely on Luma3DS 8.1.

Edit: You can run Gateway, but it's not recommended for the reason's I've already listed: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-using-luma3ds-gateway-on-b9s.431691/

i haven't used gaetway in such a long time but i do know it's not recommended anymore. If your concerned about your saves and backups you can backup and convert them to cia format and inject your saves

I restored my EMUNAND to my SYSNAND via 3DS guide...looks like everything is all good!

You can make an emuNAND that you use only with Gateway, and update your sysNAND.
It'd probably be a good idea to format the emuNAND with TinyFormat if you do that, so that your installed CIAs aren't rewrapped every time you switch between them.

If SD space is an issue, I would just make your Gateway SD card become your primary 3DS SD card. The use of Gateway necessitates a convoluted mess, and I don't recommend it.

That removes the MSET exploit (basically removes what GW_INSTALLER.nds installed), but OP mentioned he has a New 3DS on 9.0.0, meaning he installed the older System Settings CIA file with Gateway when that was still a thing.
did not see the "n" sorry

Good idea. I got everything working except one thing...my gateway MicroSD card and my MicroSD card I used for storage is larger however all my games and ext data are on the smaller one....any way where I can possibly transfer my data over to the larger card that I used for gateway purposes?

I might be misunderstanding your problem, but you could delete everything from the Gateway SD card, and then you could copy everything from the other SD card over to the Gateway SD card.

Seriously? That's it? Doesn't the 3DS have its own DRM which locks card data to a SD card until it's wiped? Or is that negated with CFW ;)

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it

@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.
