So I'm starting up a YouTube live stream channel (or at least hoping to...) I'm using B9S and Luma 8.

I know there's some NTR thing (plugin?) which will help me with video capturing. (Is it reliable btw? For livestreaming? For hours?)

I want to livestream pokemon shiny hunting and stream a few times a week.

Can someone please walk me through the process of getting such a plugin working under Luma 8 (or some way, being that I'm on Luma 8? Maybe some sort of "dual boot" thing?) so that I can achieve my goal?

Thank you SO much in advance.

Much love, Thirty.

Yes it's reliable but has a little bit of latency while streaming and it does not record audio. No need to dual boot because it needs luma to run and is not really a CFW (it's actually a .cia file.) Also the "CFW" itself does not stream, you need something like obs for that. Also just search ntr CFW and you'll find what your looking for.

link for ntr cfw: https://github.com/44670/BootNTR/releases/tag/3.2

link for obs: https://obsproject.com/

Enjoy!

this is the video guide I used, it's very easy to understand and (currently) up to date

Edit: if you want 3dsx version of boot ntr selector so you dont get banned someone posted one in the thread for it

Thank you. Can I do this even with audio? And it says "How to get NTR Custom Firmware" and shows how to install... will that fuck with my current B9S/Luma, or overwrite it?

you need a 3.5mm auxiliary cord to have sound

booting ntr is like launching a game/homebrew, it doesnt affect luma or boot9strap

if you're using NTR 3.5 you need another WIFI patch for pokemon and such
write(0x00105B00, (0x70, 0x47), pid=0x1a)

I don't think kitkat has updated for this so disable the built in command and use that one manually it might help.
you turned debugging on in NTR menu right? (press X+Y for it)

Kit-Kat has fixed the wifi patch for pokemon, you also just patch the code.bin with an NFC patch to get rid of that error entirely.
Yep

He's asking if you enabled the Debugger in NTR. Steps...
1. Load the DS
2. Open Kit-Kat
3. Run NTR
4. Press X+y on your console to open the NTR menu, choose "enable debugger"
5. Connect your 3DS to Kit-Kat using your 3DS' IP address
6. Launch your game.

To get sound like someone already said you need an auxiliary cord plugged into your Mic jack, then tell your audio driver to "listen" to the port and play it through the speakers (or headphones, whatever). Then when you use OBS/XSplit point the audio recording to the headphones or speakers that are "listening" to your 3DS.

that might introduce a delay depending on audio driver/chip/OS and other stuff. it's better to select the Line in/mic input directly as the source in OBS/recording software and have that, in turn monitor/play the audio. it might still be delayed as you play but it'll be immediate in recording.

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)

So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb

but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that

least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling

They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great

so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
