I want to finish the remaining shrines just for the sake of completion, but I have no motivation to do it right now. I haven't touched the game in a while.

This game because of the size, isn't one I would go back to over and over again like Ocarina. Music was much better in other Zelda games.
Lost woods theme was cool, so was hinox, though other zelda's had much better music.

I still like this game for what it is. I'm just bored with it right now.

Have you ever played Oracle of Seasons? It's crazy to think that Capcom could make such an amazing Zelda game. That was one of my favorites:)

I didn't like it very much. 6/10. Beat it, but it was meh. I don't see how people like it so much.
My best guess is cause "Legend of Zelda" Not saying it is the reason but is my guess. Some game titles carry lots of weight. Use it in a game and people will most likely buy it. Probably why some people even play some of the bad title ones like the Philips CDI game. Metroid other M. I bought the game for my switch cause at the time there was nothing else of interest to buy, instead of waiting for a game without using my new purchased system.

I'm in the middle trials... hard as hell. Super frustrating. The damn middle buttons are super frustrating. I always f@#$%#$ crouch or use the telescope when trying to run away from something :nayps3:

Edit: but if I complete the trials... what's the motivation to find all of the seeds? It's not like I'll be breaking weapons anymore...

Yup, that game was awesome. Its half of a whole. Combine it with Ages and you get the full game. I liked all Zelda's and I played and beat them all, except for the cdi games and the 2 DS ones, Phantom of Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.

I 100% completed all Main console games except for Breath of a Wild, Twilight Princess, and Wind Waker. But Zelda 1,2, Link to the Past, Ocarina and Majora's, I 100% them. It seems like a chore to 100% Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild with the Korok missions. The shrines I'm ok with but not koroks. I just want to get enough to max my inventory and thats it.

at launch, I put in 140 hours in the game and completed it at 70%.

Now Master mode DLC is out, I've replayed it and have put in close to 50hrs and still have my ass handed to me with each enemy.

ITS AWESOME!

I get the impression that the people that love it most tend to be people who are more into Western RPGs rather than people who love something because it's Zelda.

Also, I enjoyed Other M for what it was (minus the continual droning on about 'the baby' in the beginning). Might help that I managed to get it new for $8 rather than $50, so it might paint a different picture of value as I played through it.

I like playing metroid other M, why? It has quality production and presentation, the game plays like Super Metroid 3D (Not a official title) And is one of the best looking games on wii, not to mention is using a dual layer dvd disc which to my knowledge I know only 3 games uses it (Super smash bros brawl and Xenoblade Chronicles) Is a very huge project for that game like the other two.

Why people hated it? Well cause of story reasons, people didn't like seeing samus bad ass bounty hunter being told to follow orders, never expected her to be working with a team, never expected to just be a bit different. At least they explained that "Oh she has her abilities from the last game, but she just can't use them unless she is given permission to" Rather than just having to find them all over again. (You know typical video game logic?) Other reasons, is more slow paced, that part when you have to walk around, and then look through the visor to find a specific spot on screen to target to progress like "Where's waldo" Yeah maybe it wasn't the best but it wasn't AWFUL.

Nintendo decides to go make a metroid game that plays more like classic metroid with the help of team ninja high quality production team and people hate it. Nintendo goes and make a First person / third person shooting game metroid prime, and people like it. Honestly I'm not a fan of either Zelda or metroid series, Hated the first two games of both, But the third on SNES was a better game for me, Both game have a map system, better and much fair attack and controls, playing the game feels better. Meanwhile nes had no map, easy to get lost and requires you to think way too hard for cryptic secrets unless you had nintendo power which be honest, not everyone had.

Another interesting point you made was "western RPG" Not really sure what that is but maybe it became a thing with square enix and how their games usually are played differently every time a new final fantasy game was made. Honestly I just feel is the title that sold the game and then something with the gameplay made people like it. I can see the game plays much like the first 2 nes zelda games with the return of Jumping, looking, exploring and little restriction of what to do, but is probably like going into your backyard and playing in the forest (Or opening a wardrobe closet and discovering NARNIA :P ) Here is link waking up 100 years with his memory lost, grabs a magic technology made tablet (Looks suspiciously like the system Wii u game pad, nintendo switch system) and start your adventure. "Go on link, go save hyrule, zelda is waiting for you" If Western people like games that just gives total freedom in their game as opposed to just do what you are told next, I was unaware of this type of thing.

I've got around 450 hours. I 100%, completed, collected and upgraded everything in the game on Normal including amiibo and dlc and currently doing the same for Master Mode.

I kept saying to myself "I will do side quests after I finish main quest" and I did for a few days, but then got bored and stopped.

did you over flow heros path on your normal mode save?
When you say overflow do you mean did I go over the same paths repeatedly?

Absolutely. What's really amazing is that it's showing my progress back when I was beating the shrines. Only reason I figured that out because the last time I was on Eventide Island was within the first 90 hours.

Also amazing is how the korok seeds aren't that spread out. Must have something to do with gameplay heatmaps.

I mean, it has a 200 hour cap and deletes the oldest data first as more data is added after 200 hours on a save

I'm still playing it on my first run, since march.
I'm around 100H, and did half the story. I have around 70 shrines.

I'm not using a guide or a map, or any cheat or hints from anyone. I'm just playing at my pace, discovering things myself and enjoying it.
it's slow, long, and sometime boring. It's too big and vast to explore correctly each area.
There are still maps I didn't visit and uncover yet. I don't want to make side story at the end, I want to complete them when I discover them. I like doing missions and side quests.

No idea when I'll complete that game. I just hope to find as much things as I can before completing it and/or getting bored and stop playing.

Pop it on for 2 hours last week. Found an area according to path, that in my 57 hour play through i never touch'd. Found a dragon covered in malice. Purified him for a spring shrine. Who knew there was more then the green, blue and red dragons and another spring besides the courage one?

But ff12 came out today. So no switch usage until smarioo comes out.

I have more than 170 hours after month, and sisnt even completed main story. I absoluetly havent realized how huge this game could be so it started boring me. But i dont hate Nintendo for that. they really made a good work.
