Hardware 8TB external hard drive wish to format the whole thing to fat32

So I have a 8TB external hard drive and I need some help. I really want the whole 8TB to be one partition as fat32. I've tried minitool partition wizard, easeus, Rufus, and some different versions with no luck. And yes I tried to use 64kb cluster. Is 2TB really the limit for fat32 or can my 8TB really get to that awesome fat32 glory?

2TB is the absolute limit AFAIK.

2TB is the limit for FAT32 indeed.
You could fuck around with clustersizes probably but I don't recommend it.
The chance of your HDD corrupting is higher.

Also, why do you want an 8TB harddrive formatted as FAT32?

FAT32 has a 32 GB maximum volume size, and a 4 GB maximum file size (on Windows OS). But it supports volumes higher than 32 GB formatted by third party programs, actually FAT32 has a limit of 16 TB with 64KB cluster size. While exFAT has a maximum volume size of 128 PB and a ~16 EB file size limit.

Then, again, why do you need an 8 TB hard drive to be formatted as FAT32? It's a huge waste of hard drive space.

The Wii library isn't even that big.
Unless you're going to hoard every game.

Are there even 8 TB of Wii games? What use is that, anyways, having that thing full of 50% shovelware? Maybe use that 8 TB drive for storage and a smaller drive for Wii and you cycle through games as you play them?

however usb loaders do support ntfs...

I've been using it on my Wii U and vWii basically since I've had a Wii U, never ran into any issues myself.

I was going to post the exact same thing, the plus sides of going with NTFS is the drive is more stable (FAT is more prone to corruption for what ever reason) you don't have to break up large games into 2 parts. Larger hard drive support. Since you can use larger hard drives you gain a bit of speed if your using a mechanical drive.

The only reason to stick with FAT is for some apps that do not support NTFS, I think Triforce? and I think I remember something to do with emulation of the Wii's internal memory so you can install more Wiiware games?

But if you just want Wii games go with NTFS.

Edit: Also been using NTFS on the Wii before the Wii-U was even a thing lol

First generation relied on ugly hacks for USB 2.0 and I never liked that ugly block next to the small Wii.

Sundriver's the best really.
SD card loading for anything not supported by it.

gamecube games and plenty of wii homebrew don't support NTFS
however... this can be solved 2 ways. create the first partition as fat32 and a second one with ntfs, since usb loaders also do support multiple partitions...
or stick homebrew and gamecube games to SD card

That's some good info right there. I was also told that is anyone is to try this you should put your GC games on the first partition cuz Nintendont gets weird reading crap past the 2TB mark. I'll try making it fat32 and NTFS.
