Hacking DS Games on R4i and Unmodded 3DS?

I just bought a New 3DS XL with system software 11.4 on it.

I'm not really bothered about modding it and have bought a Sky3DS+ to allow me to play 3DS games.

Will an R4i allow me to play DS games on my 3DS without modification like the Sky3DS lets me play 3DS games?

Yep, you'll be fine. As long as you are able to make sure the R4 is compatible with 11.4.0, you're good to go. Most, if not all, R4 cards that are still sold are compatible with the newest 3DS update.

Depends on which r4i. Some of the ones still being sold don't work on 11.4, and if you are using one you bought a while ago it will be less likely to work

I just ordered a cart from 3DS-FLASHCARD. It says it's compatible with 11.4 so that's good.

It'll be nice to play some old favourites on my bigger screen.

Yup it's a great card for playing DS Games....

Nice to know. Now I can have a cart with all my 3DS games on it and another with all my OG DS games.

One day, when I'm rich, I might buy a DSTwo so that I can have my old GBA games on that one.

I like the idea of one cart for each system... Not really sure why, other than I'm a bit weird!
