I am extremely unknowledgeable when it comes to wii u hacking and stuff. I had a friend do it for me, and i can run backups through loadiiine.

So I want to install the dlc for zelda and I am not sure what i need to do to access the e-shop. I remember one of the steps to wii u hacking is to block nintendo updates and i think the e-shop is involved with that... so how do I access it to buy the DLC safely?

If you need information, tell me where to find it. I'm absolutely certain I won't know what you're talking about by name.

Right, i bought it!

So since i'm buying the DLC ahead of its release date, i need to keep my Wi U in the same state it was wheni entered the e-shop so it can wrap up the dwnload tomorrow, right?

Thinking is for Zelda breath of the wild. I dunno personally how preorder dlc works, but my guess is If you downloaded the dlc then the game requires a update to work with it. Just update the game when is available and that when you can confirm the dlc working, then just block updates again.

Ugh, that's... not helpful.

My bad luck with these things is legendary. Every single step that can go wrong will. I'm sure whatever the solution with loadiine is, it's less work (as in: work + all the thousands of thigns that will go wrong) than this brazilian method. or whatever.

Let me see if I can help clarify for you

- There are no brick risks associated with anything you want to do. The only brick risk is if you use CBHC (Thats a cold boot CFW method and you'd have to be an idiot to brick by not following directions)
- You can accomplish all you want with WUP Installer Method (formally called Brazillian Method). You can go online. You can update like a regular game and even use DLC that you've purchased. You're Wii U doesn't know the difference between what you have installed and what can be installed through eshop. It just sees it as a digital download of the game.
- You don't need to worry about CFW unless you want to play unpurchased DLC
- Stop overthinking this. You won't brick. If you're worried about bricking then just stay away from CBCH.

Read through my noob guide for instructions on how to setup and use the WUP Installer Method. Loadiine is old and outdated method and has been replaced by WUP Installer Method for launching and playing games online and offline.

Well, in preparation for this endeavor witthZelda I had tried to get my TMS#FE to update, and to install the game's DLC a couple days ago.

So I do have this Wup Installer. It, the Y mod, and the GX. One was already there when i began my work, but my point is this:

*the first two failed to install the update/DLC
*the GX one installed the update and gave me a weird message regarding the DLC despite the install bar filling completely.
*Loading TMS#FE with Loadiine, with the dlc option on, didn't give me any results. Game was in the 1.0 version so I assumed the DLC failed to install as well and gave up

But... today, after discovering how big Zelda's update was, I went to the Wii U's memory to delete my Smash 4. I found data for the update and DLC in there. So Loadiine just failed to load it? I dunno. I just tried to follow tutorials but got not results.

There was something about "mocha cfw" which i think i installed but it booted my to the Wii U menu. I'm not sure if i udnertood what that meant but i tried to install all my stuff after mocha sends me to the menu, annd nothing. Tried to load the game normally and after mocha, nothing.

This is why i actually decided to give nintendo my money despite them not deserving the support of a Brazilian.

I could try doing this with Zelda, but before anything else... it means a massive 10GB download with my slow and unstable connection. I'd rather try getting the DLc i bought working through Loadiine, if anyone could help me with that while Zelda downloads...

I have read a couple things, I'm not sure if i'll truly need itbut there's a "ddd title dumper" in my wii u as well.

Loadiine doesn't load update data and DLC from the system, but from the SD card.
It really is a lot easier to just install games with WUPInstaller, you don't even need CFW for most things. Installing is as simple as loading homebrew, selecting WUPInstaller and selecting the folder to install, and playing the games doesn't require anything (unless it's an eShop exclusive or DLC), you can just run them from the Wii U menu like legit games, no need to boot into homebrew every time you want to play a game.

Like I said, i tried that for TMS#FE's update/DLC and it gave me an error. I remember it being a "no Sd card" thingy or something similar for the wup installer, the GX one gave me a weird result for the DLC but seemed to work for the update--Loadiine just didn't recognize it.

Or... was this meant to work solely with a game installed with it, and not the one i have in Loadiine?

Well.

Anyways, it will take a lot of time for Zelda to download, let alone transfer to SD. I think getting the solution to run the DLC i purchased legit on Loadiine just might be faster.

You should kick your friend on the shins. No friend should allow a friend to use Loadiine in the year 2017

He did that a long time ago. My Wii U was collecting dust for quite a while, until Zelda came.

Installing/running nonlegit DLC requires CFW ;)
CFW is easy to run anyway. CBHC is the most convenient since it autoboots CFW on boot, but Haxchi only takes a tap to run CFW. Both require a legit DS game so if you're not willing to spend money on that you can still run Mocha easily through the browser exploit.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-noob-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.451297/ is a good guide for that, which is updated frequently.

Sorry, is the bolded a "yes, you needed to have installed TMS#FE through the WUP installer in order to get the DLC working"?

...Like I said, I have Mocha. It's on my Homebrew Channel (or loader, idk). It boots me back to the Wii U menu.

I tried to install the DLC and update after said "boot back", and nothing happened when i tried to run the game, regardless of whether i used Mocha or not befroe every installation or attempt to use Loadiine.

have erased the files, so I don't know what the errors were. I suppose they aren't big enough that it will be much trouble to get them again and check the errors, as long as I stop zelda.

I apologize for being so stupid, but I read through the descriptions and am not sure which one of these i should be looking for...
