T411 was for years the main bittorrent tracker for french speaking people
But last saturday, on June 25, French and Swedish autorities grasped server of the so called website.
Administrators of T411 used to escape French justice by changing their domain name, they did it many times over the years.
But this time, servers are grasped by the police.
T411 apparently created a new twiter account called t411_2 where they tell us news about the come back of t411.
We can see many of those tweet here :

A bit of history about T411.
In 2006, the Quebecois Bittorrent tracker QuebecTorrent is founded
In July 2008, QuebecTorrent is closed by Canadian justice. Shortly after, Torrent411, a clone of QuebecTorrent, takes back its torrents and members database.
411 refers to Les Pages Jaunes, a Canadian directory of phone numbers and adresses all over the country.
In August 2011, Torrent411.com becomes t411.me, avoiding censorship by Verisign who was managing the old domain.
In July 2013, t411 reach 5 millions of members, confirming its top position of main tracker for french speaker.
On June 16 2017, T411 had over 730 000 torrents. including over 393 000 movies and videos.

This is due to multiple complaints from the SACEM and some persons from the ALPA. The Swedish and French police were working together to kill T411, like Zone Téléchargement or even ExtraTorrent.

kill?
I don'T think t411 will be down forever, just need one person well ranked oin the website who hasnt been arrested and it may come back with a backup made maybe days/weeks ago
Sure we will lose some hundreads of torrent, but its better than losing everything

torrent sites are dropping like flies or getting blocked lately. thank fuck for NZB's

Usenet is not the same either. It was a main source of files back in the day before torrents came a thing, yet now that is trashed of spam/viruses/passworded rar crap...etc.

The NZB's like you say can be used but those can be valid to a point, as DMCA has affected that too, even with paid servers with good retention rates like Giganews with posts being pulled like fly's on shit in the past.

Best servers last time i checked were Dutch, as copyright laws and what not differ from US based servers. The internet died long ago imo.

"kill" because even if it revives, it will not be the same as before. Zone-Telechargement for example has got a known clone that works perfectly, but only one admin and A LOT of uploaders (compared to what was before, only admins could upload), has got the control of the site.

Even in Switzerland, they don't arrest nor pursue you if you download "for your own private entertainment". Usenet is the private and paid service, no ? It's like the deepweb of downloading... And it also depends of which uploader did it, like in the Torrents, or even in the beggining of P2P, with eMule. You've had the same.

Speaking about laws, Canadian laws about private life are amogst the most severe in the world. So there is almost no way to get caught for illegal downloading here in Canada :D
If we talk about illegal uploading, well thats another thing...

I'm not surprised. Torrent sites and other P2P/file sharing sites are taken down from time to time especially if it violates copyright laws.

Time to move on to Internet 2.0 bois! :rofl2:

HADOPI was spying t411 for a lot of movie torrents.. You would even saw on the torrent comments "WARNING HADOPI IS SPYING THIS TORRENT".
We've had a lot of torrents sites gone... and also a lot of clones done. So it's like "The site died, long live the site !"

I'm not aware of what the Canadian laws are, as i'm UK based and we got hit hard with torrent sites getting blocked by our corrupt goverment in the past and still to this day. Even MEGA is now capped to 5gb for Europe and the workaround unlimited download expliot got patched, so using MEGA downloader no longer works for 5Gb+ files in one batch. As far as i'm aware it still works for NA/CA regions.

I know that one MEGA downloader that I possess doesn't even cap me the 5gb.. And I live in Europe ...

that's why you use a private host like .SU i've gotten stuff from them recently the whole series of fringe and look how old that is. but getting stuff from them over 7 years old no problem AND i get my max download speed which is 100 mb/s. usenet server + SU = perfect downloading. you need to be invited to join Su though :P

Hadopi actually never worked. It even was almost removed from the law during a Sunday audience at the Parliament. Meanwhile, all torrent sites get down one by one... The PirateBay, KickAss, Zone Téléchargement, CPasBien, now t411... Well, I never used any donwload site like these so...

CPasBien still working right now, because it's the target of the French authorities + HADOPI actually spied t411 because of the series and the recent movies that were uploaded.
