Hello Tempers,
I need new Over-Ears. Closed ones because I don't want to hear the (annoying) people around me. I want to spend 150€ at max. I listen to basically all genres of music, so it's not that easy for me to find one. But I prefer a V-shaped sound signature. I want to use them on my mobile phone and on my PC (so Bluetooth would be nice but it isn't really important)
The Audio-Technica ATH-M40x and the beyerdynamic DT 770 are the headphones I've been thinking about.
Does anyone have them and do you recommend them to me? Or do you have other suggestions?

Quick answers would be nice (I need them soon).

Ah yeah, I want to get them in Austria, so I don't really want to pay like 50€ import fees. amazon.de is one of the marketplaces I want to buy from.

Thanks!

I've gotten a lot of use out of my ATH-M30, but it could probably have better mids/highs. I got my mom a pair of Symphonized Wraith 2.0 headphones that she really likes to use at work to drown people out, plus they look really nice with the metal headband and wooden backing.

The ATH-M50's/M50X's are pretty great, I own M50's myself and they're some of the best over ear headphones I've ever used. They should be only 150€ or so on Amazon.de, definitely worth the price.
I heard they are a bit bassy. Is that right? I don't like it that much when there's too much bass (Beats I'm looking at you).

Looking into the Symphonized Wraiths.

I've got the DT 990 pro and I hate it, but it's mostly because it's too open. So this means that the 770 might be great.

I also have (among other headphones that I won't name because they're shit) a Bose QC 15, which is very clear but kind of too focused on high frequencies, and it's annoying because it's wired but still waste batteries (yeah, batteries, as in the circular things you used in your toys when you were a child, not as in the battery you use in your 3DS) and a QC 25, which only wastes batteries when you activate noise cancelling, which has as a side effect to increase sound quality (which is better than the other way round but it kind of means that you'll only use the "off" mode when watching youtube videos), and a Marshall Monitor which has a lower sound quality than the aforementioned two, but it's still nice (as long as you remove the two filters inside the earcups) and it fits in your budget I think, and as a bonus, its wire is removable and is just a standard jack-jack cable, and actually you can plug it on the right side or the left side, or you can even plug a second pair of headphones on the "unused" port if you're watching a movie with another person.

tl;dr, Marshall Monitor.

I myself use Sharkroon Shark Zone H10 and i'm not complaining.
For headphones which I paid €20, it was a great investment imo.

Don't know what to recommend, but have a look at Massdrop: https://www.massdrop.com/r/SKF6U4
They use group buys to get a lower price than what you'll normally find, and they always have headphones and such, you might find something great for a good price.

I own a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, they're really good and if you want a headset, just buy a modmic too them. That what I did.

They're not nearly as bassy as Beats are, but I wouldn't notice too much because I use custom equalizers depending on what playlist I'm listening to, so you could always just lower the lower frequencies that way :P

I vote for this as well. Best headphones I ever used.

Another ATH-M50x user here. DAMN great headphones, and they're not too bassy. Listening to them unequalized is enjoyable, but I use equalizers to bring that little extra forward. Don't you have some electronics or hi-fi store around? Sometimes there are demo units available to try them out. Like Media Markt?

Also, what device are you going to use them with? Computer? Phone? Both? :P

That massdrop thingie is interesting. Gotta keep an eye on that site.
Yeah, I've bought from there a couple of times, it's pretty nice and worldwide shipping is cheap for the most part (much cheaper than other places, that's for sure)
Maybe for people that live in US and can use amazon.com and similar sites they can get things just as cheap elsewhere but for the rest of us Massdrop prices are hard to beat.

Want to use them with my PC and phone as stated above. I'm going to some stores soon but today is Sunday and all stores are closed :/

Sorry, missed that sentence :)
I always recommend waiting and trying stuff out yourself if it's possible. But anyway, a lot of people do recommend the m50x. The m40x supposedly has some more flat sound... I haven't heard them though.

Yup, get the M50Xs. I have them too and they are just great. You'll love hearing EDM or similiar with them.
And if you want a more "opened" headphone, I'd recommend the Beyerdynamic DT990. They're more useful for live music stuff, old rock music etc. I use them while playing on my electronic drums.

I love my Skullcandy Hesh headphones. Really comfortable on the ears for long periods because it covers the whole ears instead of sitting on top. And the audio cable is replaceable, so when it breaks you can just get another instead of replacing the whole thing. I got mine second hand three years ago and they still work perfectly. Here is a pic.

Do you mind buying from China? If no then Superlux and ISK has decent sets for cheap. $20-$40 can get you a real good pair.
The down side is they look like crap and the pads are not very comfortable.
