Homebrew 3DS turns on and automatically off after installing B9S and Luma 8.0

Good evening guys!

Well I have a problem (another one... haha) and is that I have installed successfully B9S and updated to Luma 8.0 (the latest build as of today) and did CTRNand.

I have updated from A9HL to B9S using the A9HL to B9S and did everything correctly. After that, I managed to get to the home menu without trouble. The problem now is that I turned off my 3DS and placed in the SD some backups to install them with FBI, but now if I place the SD on my 3DS it won't boot. It just turns the led on and after a second, it turns off.

Now, the thing comes! If I take the SD out, it boots into Luma 8.0.

So what should I do? Should I delete boot.firm or something since the 3ds is loading it from the CTRNand? I'm not sure what to do.

Delete the boot.firm on your sd card or update it to 8.0.

Your boot.firm on your ctrnand is already updated, that's why it boots without the sd card.

No, I don't. I have tried with both (having and not having) arm9loaderhax.bin. None worked.

Delete the boot.firm on your sd card or update it to 8.0.

Your boot.firm on your ctrnand is already updated, that's why it boots without the sd card.

It is supposed to be updated to 8.0 since it's the one that comes with the latest luma release. Anyways, I will try removing it. Thank you!

Okay. Now I have another problem.

After deleting boot.firm from my SD root, I managed to get into home menu with the SD in, but every time I reset, the message (in the home menu) saying "creating home menu data", appears. It's like if it did nothing. Also, if I try to install a CIA through FBI I get the following error: "Cert signature or hash check failed (106)" or even (sometimes) it crashes FBI (and the whole 3DS) after trying to list the first CIA in the list of the folder I'm currently on. Did I do something wrong with B9S? Should I try to reinstall or something?

Also if I go to system settings it shows the "Sys" string in the version (Sys 11.4.0-37E) like if it loaded luma correctly, and if I turn off and turn on again holding SELECT it loads the Luma config menu. I think this is all I can say.

I'm trying to do a full format to see if it solves anything, but do you guys think it's fake? I will try to check if it is. Is there any way to uninstall B9S and get back to A9HL to see if it solves anything?

For the moment just back everything up on a clean sd, it looks like that one of yours is either fake or corrupted. Get yourself a Samsung one for instance.

Sounds fake - back up the data and test it with H2testw (or F3X if you're on Mac). If you ever buy from ebay or Amazon third parties always test your card when you get it so you can get a refund if it is fake (they'll nearly always be fake, otherwise there's no way those sellers can make money).

That's what I thought. Totally that. I will test with F3X and check if it's fake or something. Thank you for everything! I will buy another one at an official store or something later on.

Yeah probably fake. That's the first thing I thought after the second fail. I will do the F3X test and even if it says it's correct, that I don't think it will because my Mac says that it has 33.6GB (when is a 32Gb "Kingston" SD), I will buy another one from an official store and ask for a refund.

Ok, I just had the same exact problem happen to me last night. I tried to download the latest hourly and got the same problem. I managed to fix it by going back down to 7.1 by replacing the boot.firm, don't know if this helps at all but good luck my dude.

Well im not sure if it would, but now it doesn't matter. My sd card which I bought a week ago died. Hahahaha so I willask a refund and going to buy a new one at an official store later on.

I want to thank everybody for all the help. The problem was the SD card. It was fake or corrupted, so it didn't work.

I bought a SanDisk 32GB SD card for about 15€ that worked like a charm. With the "Kingston" SD I used, transfers were waaaaaaay slower compared to the SanDisk, for example. So if somebody is experiencing this problem or something similar, should try to buy a new "official" SD from an official retailer. As I said, mine of 32GB costed only 15€.

Well, thank you everybody for everything. I will make a note about what @BlaineG said just in case in a future I have this problem, but again, the solution was getting an original SD.
