Goddamn.

I tried turning on my 3DS it took fucking 4 minutes. Literally. Games sometimes get super slow during loading times, and for example, in PokeMoon or PokeAlphaSaph, when I try to soft reset, the screen stays black for FUCKING MINUTES.

And even during ANY load time in ANY game. Fucking black screen for AGES. Sometimes 10+ minutes.

How the hell do I fix this?

B9S is literally fucking shit.

That's weird, if anything B9S boots up my 3DS slightly faster than when I was on A9LH. Couldn't tell you what's up, but what you're experiencing is definitely not normal.

I'm just tired of this. Ever since I've installed it, this shit happens. Like on PokeMoon, I'd try hatching an egg. I'd get the "oh?" message. Screen goes black... it took 10+ minutes one time to change to the scene of the egg hatching. Another time, it took so long, that I just turned off my fucking system.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

You probably damaged your SD card somehow, try another one.
Nope. SD is fine. Not damaged.

However, formatting may fix this issue, I can't format. I've got too much stuff on it, and really don't want to have to redo anything on the 3DS, in terms of the home menu, or the apps I've got.

Like I said that isn't normal for B9S, I'm guessing something went wrong in your installation, or maybe something is up with your SD card.

I followed the guide carefully. I knew what I was doing. It probably has something to do with all the homebrew applications I've got on my system, or something with the SD card having so much "stuff" on it.

Yeah, I wasn't talking about it being visibly damaged, write errors can slow down the read speed on SD cards. It's not B9S, that's only a factor when you boot. And you either fix it or don't. What's the point of just complaining?

because I'm pissed and it obviously has something to do, maybe not with B9S, directly, but how it installs, because everything was fine prior to this. Seems like some memory issue.

Homebrew apps shouldn't be affecting how your system is running. I'm not saying you didn't follow the guide carefully just that maybe something went wrong in one of the apps that installed B9S for you. Having too much stuff shouldn't be an issue, I use a 200GB SD card that is nearly full (probably about 175GB full at this point), and mine is running faster than it ever did on A9LH.

I think we would have heard about it from a couple more people if that was the case. So what happened, you didn't put your SD card in your computer, copied the files and then removed it with out "securely removing hardware", and a write error occured... maybe?

Might just be a rare issue. All I know is I didn't fuck up and my sd card isn't damaged.

Just copy everything from the SD card to PC, format the SD card and put the files back. If it still doesn't work, get another SD card. Nothing else you can do.
Really cautious about doing that. Wouldn't that erase my saved data on my CIA games? Wouldn't it erase "something" that I've got installed?

As long as you don't use a hidden EmuNAND partition, nothing will be lost by copying the files back and forth.
Yurrrrrr suuuuuuuuurre?

Last time I did this, my theme was erased and I'm pretty sure my installed games weren't there anymore... I think... I can't afford losing my 20th anniversary pokes again, among many other things

No, just copy everything over from you SD card, format the card again and copy all the files back over (or just copy everything to a different SD card) and you wont lose anything including saves.

If that much stuff disappeared last time then it's likely you didn't back up the files correctly. That shouldn't happen if you've copied everything.

You won't lose anything. Just don't put the card into the 3DS between formatting it and copying the files back on, or it'll create a new folder in "Nintendo 3DS" that will conflict with your old data (easily solved by deleting the new folder before copying the files back on though), I've seen many people make that mistake and then wonder why their games aren't showing up. It's probably what happened to you last time.

The exception to this is if you're in GodMode9 or similar and using the eject SD card option in order to backup the files, and putting the card into the 3DS again to format it. Since the home menu and system services aren't running in the background at that time, it won't create a new "Nintendo 3DS" folder.

Actually I just formatted two SD cards yesterday in order to get rid of the emuNANDs on them and no data was lost.

I think this is most likely an issue with Luma 8.0 as I have heard there are a lot of new bugs as a result of Rosalina and the other new features.
I believe you can still use 7.1, it should be more stable.

Your claims are bullshit, since the entrypoint has no influence on the performance/compatibility of your games - your CFW's patches may be the ones influencing it

7.1 can only be used on b9s 1.0 or 1.1. If they updated to b9s 1.2, they would need to downgrade to use 7.1 again.
Or use Luma 8 "legacy", or a cfw (if any) that doesn't rush to dropping previous entrypoints ASAP
