Homebrew Uggh, help with hardmodded N3DS XL? 11.4 and am following

the 3ds.guide and got to the "Finalizing setup" part and tried launching FBI, but it just sits there and loads forever.... Is there something I'm missing?

I have had the 3ds for a few days now. Came to me on 11.4 and haven't even played a game on it, so I'm pretty new to all of this stuff. The hardmodding was the easy part for me

Yeah, try that. but in a folder to work. like:
SD:/3ds/FBI/fbi.3dsx

Maybe you didn't follow that? You're in 11.3X, right?

I didn't, because I'm new to all of this. Is that a part of GodMode? I held start while booting and got to this menu... but still don't know what to do from there.

Try downloading another FBI version or from other website (3DSX. version, not CIA)

Alright, injecting FBI with Hourglass9 worked! FBI is now running. For those of you in the future who are new AF like me...
I downloaded Hourglass9 and put the .bin into the luma/payloads folder.
Booted up by holding START during power on and selected Hourglass9... then followed these directions

If it's Hourglass9, then follow these instructions.

1. Open Hourglass9, then go to "SysNAND Backup/Restore", then select the "Health & Safety Dump" option to dump Health & Safety to hs.app (you can use Up and Down / Left and Right to change the name)
2. Press Select to eject your SD card, then put it in your computer
3. Extract Universal Inject Generator, then copy both hs.app from your SD card and FBI.cia from the FBI zip to the input folder
4. Double click go.bat (or execute go.sh with Terminal on Linux / Mac)
5. Copy FBI_inject_with_banner.app to the root of your SD card and reinsert your SD card into your 3DS
6. Press B on Hourglass9, then go to "SysNAND Backup/Restore" and select the "Health & Safety Inject" option
7. Press down once to select FBI_inject_with_banner.app, then press A and confirm to inject
8. Go to the main menu, then press Start to reboot

At some point during that process, I had to hit certain buttons to verify what I was doing... but it worked perfectly. Now off to finish the guide.

Cool! You will go to japan!?!! Heck yeah!
Also nice to see now FBI is working. Now install FreeShop,and welcome to paradise! also, and at the least keep 2 NAND.sha.bin,NAND.BIN and NANDMIN.BIN in your pc if something bricked your console.

Yeah, I uploaded them to a bunch of cloud storage accounts.

Am I correct in my understanding that a system version less than 11.4.0.37-U will be able to run CFW by just using software/soundhax?

Yes. And with ntrboothax coming at some point soon probably, you will be able to run CFW on any 3DS on any firmware with just a flashcart and magnet.
