Hacking Psvita za11 with 3.61 fw

Hi guys. I just received a brand new psvita and on a previous post i was told that all vitas have 3.60 or below except the new ones red and silver. Mine is black and it has 3.61 fw. I purchased it from Japan and now i'm in a wtf situation. I'm trying to find a good excuse to return it, but i cant find one since it didnt have any signs that was used before. Any suggestions?

Alright, sorry. Currently there's no way to exploit Vitas on 3.61+ FW and it doesn't seem like there is going to be any time soon. If you really want hacks, then you'd probably want to sell your current Vita and buy one you know to be on 3.60. Then again, you could just forgo hacks for now and update to play the games that require higher firmwares. It's up to you, really.

I know that there are no hacks for 3.61. I was hoping to return it and not selling it. It might take time to sell it. I'm trying to find a good idea for returning it but i'm stuck. I bought it on ebay. I know that is a little absurd but can anyone find a good reason? I never return items it might be the first time.

If the seller accepts returns just tell them it's not what you wanted and you want to return it. You don't need to come up with some elaborate excuse.

Yes. I just saw on the profile that he accepts returns. What happens if he asks me why? As i said i havent returned items before.

Was it marketed as brand new/never used? Perhaps the seller had updated it to the latest firmware at the time (3.61) before putting it back into its box. As an eBay purchased item, these things can happen. Remember that you can always ask the seller first about certain details (in this case firmware) before you decide to buy.

Yes it was marked as brand new, but there was no sticker on the box so it could be opened easily. I bought it from Japan and probably they sell it like this, but i can't be sure about that. I have asked another seller about the fw and he told me that he can't check it because it was sealed.So i didn't ask for the one i bought, because i thought he would tell me the same. Anyway i managed to send it back and i will wait for the refund. Meanwhile i bought from a seller here in my country a brand new psvita for only 110$. It was sealed and its the 1004 model.Had still 1.81 fw! I couldn't believe that it was so cheap and brand new...

I'm in Greece. Nope i'm sorry. He told me it was a last piece left on the shelves for years .Thats why the low price i guess.

Return the Item to the Seller ... Tell the Seller the current firmware does not let you use skype, or one of the other services sony recently removed with the firmware 3.61 update.

When World of Final Fantasy was released on the vita. They did not tell customers its pstv compatibility status, so everyone had to return their orders. Sony promised a lower firmware on that model of vita, then that is your legal reason to return the item, ebay will cover the refund if the seller refuses, you have to file a complaint with ebay to get your full refund (they may ask for the item) ("bait and switch" is a consumer crime).

(I had a similar problem with ebay, and I got a refund, typically I don't care)

Thanks for the advise, but i have returned it already. The fact is that in his return policy says that the good must be unopened. So i couldnt claim what you say, because it would be a pain in the ass to explain him that someone must have updated it etc. So i used the simple advice from Tom Bombadildo "I bought the wrong thing"(thanks bro!) as an excuse and shipped it back.

The funny thing is that he was selling, as stated on his ebay account, a brand new,unopened psvita but in the end someone has opened it and updated it, so it was not unopened. I shipped it back because the fw is not the right for hacking, but i had to claim that i didnt opened it in order to meet his demands for the return policy. Ok now who's fooling who....

how much did you end up paying anyway? I have an EXTRA PS Vita Slim Black mint cond CIB w/ 8GB Memory card that I got as an extra a long time ago, its on 3.6 and has Henkaku.. The right firmware lol... If you can return it and need another lmk.

Thanks but if u read my previous posts i have returned it and now i got a 1004 model(brand new). The japanese i bought it for 182 $ US.
