I prefer to use CIAngel to get my tickets, and then download my games through the legit Nintendo eShop. But I haven't used my 2DS in about 4 - 5 months now, because I bought a PSVita at the time, well now that I have Henkaku on my PSVita and I am finally done modifying it the way I want, I wanted to get back on my 2DS so I can play NES Remix and some other games.

I just got done updating from A9LH and Luma 3DS, to B9S and Luma 3DS.

I tried to go into CIAngel and download a game ticket, but it fails to download the new wings.json file... (I understand this is because the 3DS title key website URL has changed). So I am trying to update my CIAngel to the newest version, Can someone tell me how to do that? I cannot find the information anywhere... not on this forum, or on github...

Is it just a simple matter of copying to CIAngel .cia file to my sd card and installing it with FBI? or do I need to do something else.

Also, How do I update FBI? I haven't been able to find that information either.

Sorry for the long post for such simple questions, but I have been trying to figure this out for 3 hours and I just don't want to mess anything up on my 2DS, I feel nervous changing anything because I haven't touched the device in months so I feel kind of lost while updating my CFW and all my payloads.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much! I didn't realize that FBI even had that feature haha. Even after 1 year of using it. lol.

So after I download the newest CIAngel release, just copy it to my SD Card and then install it with FBI? I don't need to uninstall the one that's already on my 2DS or anything?

Nope, it just overwrites it

Thanks So much! Just got done updating CIAngel, FBI, and FreeShop for when I feel like using FreeShop haha. Now time to figure out what this A9LH to B9S guide is telling me to do, because I'm lost.

In Section IV - CTRNAND Luma3DS

it says....

(If, before updating to boot9strap, you already had an EmuNAND setup and would like to move the contents of your previous EmuNAND to your new SysNAND CFW, now is the time to follow Move EmuNAND before doing this section.)

Well I never really learned about sysnand and emunand when I modified my 2DS. I just follow plailect's A9LH and Luma 3DS guide. Everything worked great ever since. Then I backed up my EmuNAND with Luma3DS every time there was a firmware update from Nintendo, and then after it was done updating and everything went smoothly... I would make a backup of the new one.

Well, I understand what the SysNAND is... and I understand what the EmuNAND is... But I don't understand what that sentence is telling me to do... because I would think that if I am "UPDATING" to boot9strap, then that would mean that I already have A9LH with Luma 3DS, which would also mean that I have an EmuNAND. Am I wrong for thinking this?

I am just confused because I would assume anybody who is "UPDATING" to boot9strap, would have an EmuNAND, II don't understand how you can be running a CFW without an EmuNAND.

I ended up just skipping that step because when I clicked the "follow Move EmuNAND" section, it was talking about a bunch of backing things up like GBA games and saves, and DSiWare, etc... which I didn't need. After following the rest of the guide after that, I reached the finish line and my 2DS is now fully updated to 11.4.0 and Luma 3DS is fully updated to 8.0 and I am assuming that I have boot9strap instead of A9LH. Is there a way to check that?

Also, last question, besides figuring out how to check if I am 100% definitely using boot9strap instead of A9LH now... I am also wondering, How can I use splash screens for when I turn on my 2DS now? I had custom splash screens for when I turned on my 2Ds, that would say "Luma 3DS" and had a nice design, and the top and bottom screens would show different buttons I could press, and what they would do... (i.e - Start : Luma Configuration) or ( i.e Select : Decrypt9).. until the 2Ds would finish loading up into the home menu.

But now when I turn on my 2Ds, the screen just stays black while it's booting up, like it used to before I installed the splash screens... Even though I still have the splash screens in the luma folder on my Sd card, where they have always been. It's as if Luma 3DS just doesn't load the splash screen files anymore or something...

[EDIT] I have jsut realized that after holding "Select" on startup, it takes me into Luma 3DS configuration menu, and in the menu there is an option where I can enable splash screens before or after payloads, and selecting "before" will show my splash screens when I turn on my 2Ds. Sorry for such a long post and then figuring it out myself hahaha! Thanks anyways!

P.S - Should I enable anything in the Luma 3DS configuration menu, besides "Show NAND or user string in System Settings", and "Show GBA boot screen in patched AGB_FIRM" (I play VGBA games on my 2DS) ??????????

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Sorry haha, ignore my last post/edit, I have jsut figured out everything myself by reading the wiki and also experimenting with key combinations while booting my 2DS!

Thanks SOOOO MUCH for the help though!!!! Very much appreciated! ;]
