Vanillaware title, 13 Sentinels getting western release

Vanillaware, known for beloved games such as Odin Sphere, Muramasa Rebirth, Dragon's Crown, and more, will be having their latest title, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, brought west, thanks to Atlus/SEGA. The press release refrains from noting what consoles this game will release on, though the original Japanese version is slated for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The game will also be on showcase at Atlus' E3 2017 booth.

A departure from the studio’s traditional fantasy style, the game takes place in a modern setting punctuated with giant mechs. Although the world may be bleak, Vanillaware’s signature artistic shine and gorgeous aesthetics will bring the characters and story of 13 Sentinels to life. Atlus U.S.A., Inc. is known for high-quality, deeply immersive, uniquely Japanese and indie video game experiences. Sega is a worldwide leader in interactive entertainment software products. Don’t miss our booth featuring highly anticipated titles from Atlus and Sega, including Yakuza 6, Yakuza Kiwami, Sonic Forces, Sonic Mania, and 13 Sentinels.

I love Vanillawares games SOOOOO much, and was very pleased to be notified of this in my Atlus newsletter email - especially considering that there'd been no news of this title for many months and I was begining to wonder if it was cancelled.

I doubt it. The PS3 is soundly dead at this point.
Not true. It's still getting physical releases in Japan. And, like I said, Persona 5 got a physical PS3 release just a matter of weeks ago, in all territories (I own the EUR disk).
The PS3 isn't like the xbox 360 where everyone dropped all development as soon as the xbone came out. Also, remember how long the PS2's lifecycle was with games being released LONG into the life of it's successor.
...but, I'm living in hope. I'm realistic enough to doubt it will get a PS3 release, but I'd say it's more likely than a Switch or Xbone version.

I also just remembered that someone needs to complete the translation of Vanillawares Japan only NDS game Kumatanchi ...I've been wanting to play that game in English for almost a decade now!
