Gaming So... About Zelda Breath of the Wild

So, I kind of got bored of zelda breath of the wild and thought of playing it later. I have invested hours into the game but overall I haven't really gotten hooked into the whole open world survival elements, eventually after the hype died down on myself the pvp became extremely boring (not using targeting just manual shooting/hitting/dodging.) And the exploration, becuase I invested hours into that became EXTREMELY boring.

I was thinking of selling the game and taking a "break" from it temporarily so I can forget a little bit about the story and everything on the map, and wait for the dlc to come out. So that way 1. I can enjoy other "mini game" games (Like mario kart, Arms, etc...) 2. Have a more difficult challenge of the game at some point, 3. Be able to know when to do a certain task next time, so I don't get bored easily (ex: always looking for animals, or doing to many side quests at once.)

However I kind of had one question. I got the expansion pass DLC as a gift, and i'm afraid to sell it becuase I think the DLC is linked with that cartridge i'm using.


Does anyone know how the DLC works on the cartridge? Does it like save to your system so you can download it at some point, or is all the dlc just loaded on the cartridge temporarily until you actually download it?

I'm asking becuase i'd like to play arms along side with mario kart, I have been having a blast with those two games, I recently bought Mario Kart a few days ago, and got to play some arms matches during the test punch. And I have got to say it makes life hell of a lot better when you can have "mini game" games on a portable HD hand held.

DLC isn't written to the cartridge, it's tied to your account. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to write anything to the cartridge at all.

Simply put, money. I don't have a job (yet.) And can't afford stuff like that anyway. I plan on selling the game and buying it later once I do have funds to get the game again.

I used to do it a lot, and it works out well for buying something I might like, and then go back to the old thing afterwards. (In this case i'm selling Zelda to get arms in order to play it for awhile.) Of course you can also do this backwards. (Selling arms going back to zelda.) Which is why I said "taking a break from zelda" Sorry if I didn't clarify that or if it was confusing.

That's another thing, by the time the dlc comes out (all of it.) Paid online would come, and since I can't even afford that on a monthly/yearly basis (yet.) It would ruin the online mode in my opinion.

Nothing is written to the cartridge, not even game saves.
All is in your system and tied to your system.

Got bored of it after 115 hours. Started playing it again to get the 100%.
It is hard and yeah a few things get bored, but still got the satisfaction killing things. OHH.. and burning stuff.

You're going to be selling it for lower than you bought it for and unless you get really lucky you're going to be buying it back - even second hand for more than you're going to get for selling it.

He's not very smart. A smarter person may not have bought a Switch at all yet. They'd wait until they got a job before buying a luxury console way too early. Another thing a smart person could do is just borrow the money for Arms somehow. They could probably find a way to borrow the money at little to no interest, less than their losses on the game. Other alternatives are selling something they have that they don't actually want anymore, or earning more money somehow.

You seem to misinformed.

1) the DLC is downloaded. So it is attached to the account.
If you still have your account you can download the dlc anytime after it comes out.

2)Selling a game to get a new one and then buying the old one back at a later time. Is no out of the question but it can become pointless. Some games dont drop in price so in the end you end up paying the same price as just keeping the game and buying the new one.

3) Online isnt going to be paid until next year. They change things up. Also zelda doesnt need online inorder to play. ARMS does however.

Well that to. I live with my parents (I'm a 16 year old in high school dude.) They don't expect me to pay the bills however they expect me to be curtious and be thankful for what we have. My parents don't like to fork money for gaming equipment, or electronics unless its for something important. So buying something like a $300 camera made by canon, Photoshop CS8, A MAC Computer for making grahpic animations and such is unlikely. The same with gaming equipment, online pay, or any other type of electronic stuff. They expect me (most of the time.) Figure out a way on how to afford something like that.

My realitives forked over some money for me to buy a Nintendo Switch for my birthday. So as you can expect I was hyped knowing I even got that, (I would have never been able to get one either way the same with any next gen console.)

So i'm not saying I can't afford it becuase my whole family is poor and we live on the sidewalk. No, I just don't have a job yet (never been employed yet.) And money is scarce in terms of what we can buy for "fun & games". Or what we can afford.

You need to learn patience. Yes it does suck to be so young. But maybe you could just borrow the game from someone? Know anyone else with a switch? I can't really tell you to let anyone borrow zelda because every switch owner already has zelda. So who are you even going to sell to? They have already sold more copies of Zelda than Switches. You would have been better off just getting a Wii U for now and waiting until 18 or so to get a Switch. Too late now though. You should focus on building life skills. Go do some odds jobs for friends and family. Learn a skill like computer programming. There's plenty of time to play mediocre games like Arms later. You must learn patience and discipline.

Let's say you somehow sell Zelda for $30 after fees, but arms costs $60. Where are you getting the other $30 from? What about GameFly? Maybe you should just get a GameFly subscription. That's a lot cheaper dude, look into that.

@petethepug why not get an after school job? I'm surprised you haven't yet, I got my first job at 13 and it was fantastic having my own money. Was paid very poorly (started off at $8 something an hour LOL but that was 17 years ago), but since there were no bills or rent to pay you didn't really need a lot to feel rich. Most people I know got a job as soon as they were legally allowed to (13 & 9 months) and some beforehand, if they found the right place and it was cash in hand (my sisters worked for a riding school shovelling horse business at 12, exchanged for riding lessons and lunch and a small amount of cash). Even if you didn't need the money, you'll have a hard time getting a job later. Employers will wonder why you had no teenage job and maybe think to themselves this candidate is either lazy with no initiative or has such poor personal skills he can't get even a job at a supermarket or fast food place (where the only skills needed are the ability to show up on time and do what you're told). If you don't get a job before finishing university/college, then you'll be too old to get a typical teenage job (employers will be suspicious of you with your education and not want to hire you because you might expect more money or responsibility than they are willing to give you). So then you are stuck not being able to get a "real" job using your education and can't get a low-end job either!! Just keep that in mind! It's not all about having some pocket money to spend - it's the future too.

@Quantumcat I have been looking into getting an after school job, or getting a workers permit. I just never really taken it into action so to say.

Part of that is becuase i'm extremely shy, the other is becuase right now. I don't know how to "apply" and never really questioned how to apply for a job at a age younger than 18

I'm probably going to apply for a job or figure out how when the summer is over. But for now I just like to enjoy time off. Or basically focus on my grades more/enjoy being a "kid" while it lasts, take things slow instead of rushing to get to point a to b. However its not the same with games and I wish it weren't at times. As desperately as much as I try there is no definitive "patience" for me unless every single game, or console in the market was free of charge. The same with some career paths like photoshop or code.

Again the only reason I got any of this was becuase my realitives gave it to me as a gift. The same with the legend of zelda and the coupon I used to get Mario Kart.

He lives in the US, not Australia. I think most places require you to be at least 16 to work. Anyways, it's really hard to get a job now in the US. Those "teenage" jobs like supermarket and fast food are no longer available to teenagers. There are grown ass people working them. Yes, in the US even McDonal'ds is requiring experience and hiring older people these days. It's horrible. The most likely way for him to get a job is through nepotism or something. Things are so bad now in the US that even children need to know someone to get a job.
