Despite that ARMS is a 3D fighting game and Smash a 2D, the point of it is that they're both fighting, addictive (not to everyone, of course) games to play so in theory ARMS should do perfectly fine until Nintendo releases a Smash for the Switch.

There's also going to be Xenoverse 2 with some DLC (they should just bundle all of it in -- w/ Season Pass if necessary, since it's a new release) included which I'm sorta looking forward to, depending on its price.

It's a shame that the Switch won't be getting a port of Tekken 7. Sigh. :(

ARMS and Smash are very different, so I don't think they would cut into each other's profits.

Also, most games sell a lot at launch, and then dwindle in sales afterwards - so if Smash releases in 1-2 years, ARMS sales will be negligible at that point anyway.

Honestly i played one hour of it. But it wasn't so bad, is not that great either. But is probably aiming to be esport material like splatoon 2 is. My thing is i hope nintendo isn't aiming for that direction with their games. Is really not like them.

Maybe i feel kinda bad since i only played about 40 mins, but i think maybe the full game is a bit more to it cause of unlockable content maybe. But from the menu it seem like just a fighting game not worth the money they asking for it. I hope it has more content like game modes other than fighting and volley ball. A volley ball game reminds me of tekken. :P

I view the game sort of like the budokai games - being a 3d fighter that's what it reminds me of most.

Some people like that - others don't. I am interested in the game, but I think this is one I'd rather pick up used.

With the switch having a limited library and the added boost in hype from the testpunch arms will do fine in sales. Dunno how smash would affect arms since they're two completely different games, plus we also don't know if they will just port smash from Wii u or make a new one from the ground up.

Yes, this is what I was referring to. I group ARMS and the budokai games into the "3d fighter" category.
Well i mean yes. Though is not as deep of a fighting game as some other popular ones like street fighter, mortal kombat... but even 3d fighters have some more technical to it like tekken, soul calibur, virtual fighter, dead or alive.

This is just more like Move out the way, hit them, don't get hit, move around. Is like punch out expanded on it instead of a new punch out game. I can see little mac and donkey kong being part of it and some other punch out characters too joining the game. :P

Here's for hoping we get DK and Little Mac DLC.

Tenkaichi. Budokai was a 2D fighting game.

That is an accurate guess.

But hey, there's Mario Odyssey to look forward to which I'm hyped (and really the first real Switch game to be released). :)

Why isn't ARMS a real switch game? :wtf:

I mean in a technical perspective to take full or most advantage of its hardware (graphical power, etc). The graphics in ARMS are similar to Splatoon WiiU.
I think Mario Odyssey looks like a wiiu game as well. I personally think the game started as a wiiu title.

Switch games are not going to look very different from wiiu games in general - because even though the switch is more powerful - power/battery considerations force devs to tone down on graphics.
