I don't want to fucking hear about them anymore. They piss me off.
They are just fun to spin around while you are watching youtube or are at school learning. When you spin them they feel soothing and when you flip them you feel a weird gravity pull. You can also learn tricks then show it off to your friends. I do agree on some points that this is getting a but out of hand. I have seen a bunch of people spending over 20$ on them and some on youtube claim that they spent 1000$ on them. One other thing that anoys me are these fidget spinner apps that have no use at all.

After reading your post, you should definitely try the new fidget spinner Homebrew that just got released for the 3ds!

The only time I hear about fidget toys is when people bitch about them in shitty threads.

But otherwise they're just a stupid invention trying to turn kids into *shudders* ....drummers.
Eugh.
Maybe there's a disconnect.. but what does a fidget spinner have to do with drums?

You've clearly never been in band class where those fidgeting idiots never sit still and have the loudest most obnoxious fidget toy to ever exist.

There's the disconnect. Drums and practice pads usually become fidget toys not the other way around.

"Great drumming Lars, where'd you learn that?"
"I bought a fidget spinner"

It is a fad, there have been many like it* and there will likely be many more as work on "the device" is moving rather slowly. I have never quite figured out the pattern behind toy fads (I would probably be somewhat richer should I have pulled that trick off) but they happen all the time.

*pogs, football cards, yoyos, marbles, tamagotchis, some said scooters but I still see those everywhere, beyblades, I saw what I know as bristlebots have it happen, ben 10 was it for a while, beanie babies, a hacker favourite in furbys (apparently now zhu zhu pets), fingerboards/tech decks, troll dolls and the list goes on and on and on.
