from my memory, yes, if you are missing content files that are described in the tmd, make_cdn_cia would not make a cia.

make_cdn_cia foldernamexxxxx output.cia -> works fine, tho I have not tested if it actually installs or activates the DLC properly. it does give an error message but doesn't seem to stop the creation of a cia file (0x0000003C: error: No such file or directory)



I actually have an o3ds, let me try it out since I can swap out the sd card easily.

The incomplete DLC packed with make_cdn_cia installs correctly and gets detected by the game.

Oh really? Then I have not said a thing haha. I got the same 'No such file or directory' error after trying to build it myself but indeed still found a generated CIA file. Thought something was wrong with it though, because of the error and when I checked the file size, I thought it was rather small compared to the donwloaded content file size.

Anyway, thanks for helping me out you all. I will try it out myself tomorrow, actually also got this problem with the DLC of Blaster Master Zero, so I hope it works. Otherwise we just need to wait for all the DLC to be available haha.

Can confirm the incomplete manually created CIA I build afterwards works, so the missing content that is listed in the TMD is apparently not a problem for make_cdn_cia. Then I simply added two lines in the FunKeyCIA script so it continues after it can't find the content on the CDN, so it will make the CIA itself:

The thing I find weird though is that I when I check the DLC in-game, I only see all the paid DLC missions (which are not even supposed to be released yet lol). The DLC missions that are free are not installed, which means the content that can't be found on the CDN are the free missions? There are also a few dummy objects in the DLC list, which are not supposed to be there I guess.

i have no idea how the free dlc works for this game, possibly it is only available later in the game? just a guess.

Ye. That was one of the big points of having the bootrom available.

3dsconv has it iirc at the moment.

It seems to only convert encrypted 3ds (cart dumps) to encrypted-3ds-installable cia.

Those commands only work if you have an already decrypted 3ds/cia.

you have right. 3ds files are not the same compared to cia
