I don't have a PS Vita just yet, however I've looked deep enough to see that you can spoof the firmware to go online and stuff. IF I were to play a backup of a game, sync that games trophies for example, and use my PSN account would I get banned? Or do you only get banned when hacking games online? I just want to be 100 percent sure I'm gonna play it safe.

If you are concerned about it, isn't the best way to "Play it safe" is to not do it?

Serious answer, as far as concerned, no one has reported bans for playing maidumps, vitamin dumps. I been using henkaku and even tried a game with mai dump, i still have my account. So i don't think so.

By just going online with a 3.65 spoof can get you banned (got IP banned twice now)

Fortunately, if you do get IP banned, simply reset your router to get a new IP.

Thats a reasonable answer but I want to hack the Vita for "certain" reasons obviously but I just want to make sure that my PSN account doesn't get banned.

Whats "Dec"? I'm a bit curious about that

I can handle a few IP bans, I just don't want my PSN account in general to get banned.

I thought this is caused by Near app acting weird on hacked devices
Same thing happened a while back when it's still 3.63 and the culprit found to be Near app

in the immortal words of run DMC dont be-leave the hype .. it will happen i dont care what everyone hopes ! or pretends sony will slap some banning out sooner or later .. they did with the ps3 & psp.. didn't they .. so why people say the vita is safe is beyond me .. wishfully thinking i say ... im keeping my vita offline .... when henkaku came out it took about 2 weeks for the update... and now the 3.65 update kills vhbl .. and people with 3.65 vitas on reddit, dying for a way to solve this recently i think people underestimate sony ... we all dont want to lose our psn stuff on ps3/ps4/vita ... but if sony could ... they would & they just might.. no one knows what sony will do except sony .. i know people ACT like they are top dev's & know everything on these kind of forums ... but they dont at all ... be careful if you synch your trophies oh yeah your asking for it IP BAN .. just why people are obsessed with trophies is beyond me also ... i deleted all mine off my vita and saved 500mb

I have been doing so since Henkaku came out, syncing trophies almost daily (except while PSN spoof was dead) and even playing online in some games. I've also avoided syncing trophies for games that are digital-only in my region, as a personal thing. I've not heard of any bans backed up with proof, other than some IP bans due to Near being dumb (as mentioned above). Oh, and keep an eye out, there's some unfinished leaked build of an Adventure Time game that was reported to cause bans. That said, this is all anectodal.

The fact that I haven't been banned (yet?) doesn't mean that you won't, or that we both won't be banned down the line. I can't just say "oh sure, you will be fine" when nobody really knows at this point. It's up to YOU if you want to take the risk or not. Keep that in mind. To play it safe, I recommend making a secondary account and using that to play backups. There's even a homebrew that lets you easily swap between multiple accounts in a single memory card.

What if its a Japanese game that only was released as a cart only? As far as I'm aware it was never released digitally. Will I be safe then? My intention is to play these specific games on my main PSN account and the rest of my games on another account.

Like I said, there's no guarantee whether or not that's safe. You'll be taking a risk anyway. If it helps you at all, though, I have played backups of Japanese cart games like that and synced their trophies with no issues so far. The Vita is a region free system, so it would appear as if you had just imported the game to other people, at least on the surface.

I'm curious though, which game is this? I thought every Vita game in every region had a digital release.

Well I guess I'll take the risk, had the account for ages but I can make another one. The games in question are all three Love Live! School idol paradise games: Vol.1 Printemps, Vol.2 BiBi, and Vol.3 lily white.

What's the best way to stay off of Sony servers? I signed out of PSN, but realised that it's still connecting because I installed Persona 4 Dancing all Night and the live area tells me there's an update available even though I'm signed out of PSN!
I don't want to disable wifi because I use it sometimes for ftp and henkaku. Is there a dns I can use with the Sony servers blocked or do I have to manually block them in my router. That also wouldn't be ideal because I want to connect to Sony servers on my PS4 :)
I guess what I'm asking is, is there a way to stay safe without turning off wifi?

I'm using a secondary PSN account on my Vita that I don't care that much about. It is logged into my PS4, but it's not my main account, although I have purchased some content on it. I'm wondering if having a second account banned will affect my main account if they're both logged into the same PS4.

I probably should have created a completely different account to use on my Vita.

someone here mentioned earlier that there is a homebrew app that can make you switch your account, maybe you should try that app? Forgot what it was called
