Hacking boot9strap update from A9LH guide - What is "Section IV - CTRNAND Luma3DS" for?

I plan on updating my N3DS from A9LH to boot9strap following this guide: https://3ds.guide/updating-to-boot9strap

I read it completely, but I don't understand what the "Section IV - CTRNAND Luma3DS" is for?

My N3DS is setup with sysNand on 9.0 and emuNand on 11.4.

From what I can read no, although you can clone your emuNAND to sysNAND using GM9 iirc

no u will just update sysnand to 11.4

U only do that if u have A9LH and u don't so start from the beginning of the guide 3ds.guide

There's no mention of emuNand transferring to sysNand

I had A9LH and emunand 11.3 and just updated to boot9strap using that link.

I can still use my emunand as before.

I also have A9LH with Emunand 11.3 (and Sysnand 9.2). Since this guide (https://3ds.guide/updating-to-boot9strap) does not mention anything about Emunand, did you perform all operation with the 3DS using your Synand or Emunand ?
Did you perform the section IV too ? i'm not sure if it's related to the boot hax or the Nand thing.

I hacked like 3 3DS XL's w/ SoundHax downgrading to 2.1, and NAND Back to 11.3, then update to 11.4 after all said and done and have Luma, etc. Now the guide is redone to not support this method and has this new boot9. Idk what emunand is, I know I only use sysnand... and my SD card?..

Emunand will remain untouched. B9S, A9LH etc are simply the entry-points to boot things, cfw in this case will boot you to either sysnand or emunand. Luma still supports emunand so you can still use emunand.

I could boot my 3DS without an SD card after previously following the guide before this NEW change, as it writes to SysNAND a9lh

I did everything as per the guide, so using the Sysnand.
I also did section IV

I updated my N3DS from A9LH to b2s using the update guide and all went well
