OP
so I have a9lh on my n3ds and recently I saw this boot9strap thing on 3ds.guide (dont have time to watch all the scene so I check it once a month~) so the question is- whats the benefit over a9lh? I dont care about 1 less second every boot, n3ds already boots pretty fast... whats the risk in transforming (or whatever is the right word for it) from a9lh to boot9strap and what are the steps required?

I dont really have too much time for my 3ds, so im weighting the risk-reward and time it will take me.. also its a shame theres nothing about it on 3ds.guide, only installing boot9strap from emunand setup or unhacked console...

1. Yes, the secret_sector is the same.
2. 3DS payloads (and Luma3DS itself) are going to start only supporting sighax, and dropping a9lh support. So you kind of have to update.

Got any proof to back that up?
Which bit?
If the bit about Luma3DS,
Code:
boot9strap support (all older entrypoints, including ARM9LoaderHax and menuhax, are no longer supported).
Replaced .bin (brahma/a9lh) payload loading with .firm (FIRM format) payloads. This format allows for way more flexibility and is also the only one supported by boot9strap.
That's a quote from https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases

Why? Future! Cool stuff can be done with sighax. Also because Luma3DS from here on out will be Sighax only and hopefully other CFW take from Luma's example.
How? The guide of course

Update so you don't feel like that guy using Emunand with RxTools in 2017.

or quite simply, update so you can pull down system updates in the future. That being said, I think it was kinda early for luma to completely abandon ship. If nintendo drops an update tomorrow that breaks current a9lh luma, a lot of people are going to end up with soft bricks.

boot9strap is an implementation of sighax (and significantly safer than vanilla sighax). Bootrom doesn't need to be dumped by end users either. Basically bootrom needed to be dumped in order for this to happen, but end users have no use in dumping it.
