Following the recent removal of Splatoon girl's controversial taunt, a few other changes have been unveiled, the most noticeable of which is removing Mario's cry of dismay when being overtaken by opponents, namely: "Vai a fanculo, stronzo".

"Please understand; we are attempting to refresh the character of Mario for a new generation of gamers," Nintendo's creative director Shigeru Miyamoto said in a recent Nintendo Direct. "As part of this, we are expanding the library of Mario's in-game exclamations. For Mario Kart, we asked native speakers what a frustrated Italian might shout in traffic. They all agreed on the sentence. Although," he added, "in retrospect, we really should have had someone reliable check the results."

Apparently, Nintendo did not understand.

Reactions to this edit are varied. While some welcome the removal of the NC-17 rating, others lament the softening of "youth today", while reminiscing of the good old days when men were men, women were men, and children were also men, before instructing the "damn kids [to] get off my porch". "Swearwords are funny," a member of the game's target audience confided in us, before adding "chicken butt!" and giggling for ten minutes straight.

On a possibly related note, a leaked fragment of the game's code contains commented-out function calls to midderu_fingerru(); as a taunt, but we can only speculate to the function's contents, and it is not clear if this was ever part of the finished game.
